This is an excellent value for money hotel in the heart of the city I've visited several times with friends and family and always feel at home here. Gets really busy, especially in the summer. so book early and allow extra days to explore the city properly 😊 You have to try it 😊

To stay in Exarchia is special, since here one is in the middle of an anarchic quarter, where police only enters in extreme cases, but is plentyful on its edges. One finds wierd people, but also intellectuals and artists, also many students from the nearby Polytechnicum. All over there are graffiti, many with anti-capitalist slogans. But it is also an...

Pros: Lots of good restaurants and bars in the area. Cons: Room was basic enough, beds are hard and bathroom pretty small. Staff at reception were not very welcoming and nothing in the way of maps or guides about the area.

Clean, central, calm despite the loud neighborhood. Sociable owner (Cypriot talkie guy!) and really helpful. In Exarcheia, where day never comes! Close to nice restaurants, bars, cinemas, theaters. It's your hotel, mate,

I love visiting Athens, and this is my second time to this hotel. We had a great view from the sixth floor, although go onto the roof garden and you see even better views. The room is cleaned daily and the breakfast is a buffet and it is a nice little feed. Well worth the money and not far from...

Stayed here with a friend for two days. Simple hotel with clean facilities, air conditioning and close to popular areas and good food. Staff were very helpful with directions and places to see/eat. Happily stay here again.

We stayed one night here so we could visit some of Athens on our way to Rhodes. It was good for the purpose with clean rooms and very friendly staff. Nearby are lots of good places to eat tasty Greek food at nice prices. The downside was noise from a bar on a nearby roof terrace that played loud music...

The room was a decent size with aircon and tv, was also very clean and tidy and the staff were friendly and helpful. The hotel is only ten minutes walk from Omonia square and located in a funky nighttime area with bars and cafes all around. There were some minor problems with the amenities that could be easily fixed. The...

This hotel is situated in a very run down neighbourhood but it's good enough inside if you want to rest your head and get a good night's sleep. The air con is good, bed comfy enough and it's a 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station (Panepistimios). The breakfast leaves a lot to be desired, but perhaps that's me...

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
