Good location 5 min walk from Syntagma and 10 min walk from the metro. The rooms are recently renovated and clean.Nothing fancy or luxury but the service is professional. Adequate for our needs. The view from the breakfast room is spectacular overlooking Acropolis. Reasonably priced.

We stayed at this hotel for one night before departing Athens. It was adequate for our needs, had a great breakfast and view of the acropolis from the top floor. Though not fancy, it served our needs in a great location at a reasonable price.

The Astor is close to everything and if you are lucky enough to get a view of the Acropolis from your room, the best value in Athens. Breakfast is included in the 96 euro per night (2 persons) tariff. This is served on the Rooftop Restaurant overlooking the Acropolis and toward Pireas. Stunning.

The hotel is situated 10 minutes walk from Syntagma sq. metro station and about 20 minutes to Monastiraki sq. That makes it a great base to wander Athens without limits, because it is in the heart of this city. The rooms are clean, the service is professional and the breakfast will make your day.

I don't recomend this hotel because.... room is too old and is not reformed ever. Smells bad. Breakfast is disapointed. Mostly, staff is not so kind. Only good thing is a hot and smooth water in the bathroom.

Hotel Astor is a great little accommodating hotel in a perfect location. Value for money definitely. The rooms are fairly basic but clean and comfortable. Our room looked directly towards the Acropolis which gave us a thrill every time we looked out. The view from the breakfast room and outdoor terrace is also stunning. I have stayed at the Astor...

I have spent 2 nights at Astor hotel. Great location, very close to Syntagma metro station. Be more concrete. It is only 5 min. to walk from the station to the hotel. Hotel as such is clean, rational. A superb view from the restaurant on the top of the building. Directly on Acropola, which is ca. 25 minutes walking from...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
