Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.

This is a small independent hotel that caught my eye as soon as I began the search for a hotel in Athens. Key to my interest was it’s consistently-favorable reviews on TripAdvisor, at affordable prices. The main entrance is a bit non-descript—must be alert to spot it,

You can download an app call Beat; it's sort of like Uber but it's taxi. You enter your location & destination, and get an estimation of cost. You will see the taxi driver's name, license plate number, and you can pay Paypal instead pay the driver. Avoid the scam of charging you more than what's supposed to be. I used Beat during my trip!

It's a fixed 38 € (or 50 € after midnight) between airport and city center, any taxi driver tell you differently is trying to scam you. I used citycab.gr to book my taxi, and the driver was waiting for me at airport lobby making me feeling very safe. 40 (including tip) and made the driver very happy. Your arrival time is too late for Metro.

Dear gloriac821 Thank you for your message. Here is detailed information how to get to Piraeus Port from our Hotel: A) By metro/train. At Monastiraki station, 100 m from the Hotel, you will take The Green Line to Piraeus and you get off at Piraeus Port station. Duration of the trip is around half an hour and the ticket cost is 1.40 euro per person. B) By taxi. The cost is around 20 euro and the duration is 20 minutes more less, depending the traffic , of course. From the airport to the Hotel, the best way is : By Metro, you get in Line 3 (blue line) from the airport and you get off at Monastiraki metro station. You find Athinas Street exit and you turn left. You will find the Hotel after 100 m ( 29 Athinas Street) (3 minutes walking) .The duration of the trip is apr. 40 minutes.Ticket costs 10 euro per person. Metro rail operates on a daily basis from 6.30am to 23.30pm(from the airport to Monastiraki)and from Monastiraki to the airport from 5.30 am to 22.56 pm You can check the timetables at stasy.gr By Bus(when metro does not operate): you get in bus X95 from the airport and you get off at Syntagma square. From there you can walk down Ermou str and to the traffic lights on Athinas str you turn right and after 100 meters you will see us at the left hand side ( 10-15 minutes walking) . If you have many luggages, you can take a taxi to the hotel as It is really close. The duration of the trip from airport to Syntagma is apr. 1 hour and there is bus every 20 minutes, 24 hours. You will pay 6 euro p.p. By Taxi (from outside the airport line), you shall pay between prox. 38-42 euro in daytimes and at night around 54-58 euro. The duration of the trip is apr. 45 minutes. If the taxi driver asks for more money, please come to the Reception of the Hotel before you pay him. If you use the metro/train, please be little bit careful with your belongings. Concerning the previous question, about the luggage and the distance from the metro, we are indeed very close to the metro, 2 blocks away. If you need any further information, please do not hesitate to contact us. We are looking forward to welcoming you! Kind regards, Ioanna Boura //Reservations Dept Attalos Hotel
