The hotel is a normal one. I'm not sure if it really deserves its 4 stars but there were no problems with tidyness or with service. The bathroom was a bit outworn but sothing severe. The view from the roof terrace to the Acropolis is great. Breakfast is very good, special plus is the greek coffee that you can prepare...

This hotel is very upscale and in a great location walking distance to the major historical sites and across the street from the National Botanical Garden. A very nice breakfast buffet is included. Adjacent to the old city area of Plaka.

Amalia was a great find for us. A simple ride from the airport and from there we did not need any other public transportation to see the main sites. We stayed in the family suite, with our three children and were very happy with the rooms. The breakfast was top notch as well. Highly recommend.

Hotel room was comfortable and met all of our expectations. A short stroll takes you to the Syntagma Square area, Hop-on Hop-off buses tour stop, and plenty of great food and shopping. A 15 minute walk can get you to the well known Acropolis and Parthenon of Athens! The hotel is associated with CHAT Tours which is very convenient if...

This hotel in the heart of Athens is a great base for your visit to the city. Syntagma Square and its transportation connections are minutes away, and it's only a 15 minute walk to the base of the Acropolis. Rooms were clean and well organized, with a very handy shelf in the bathroom. The breakfast buffet was good with plenty...

I'll start with the down side ... time shows on the hotel. Both hotel and room decor need an upgrade. Balkony without a place to sit when you have such a view ? shame. Stuff are friendly and helpfull, location is really perfect. Breakfast is nice, nothing special. Tons of places to eat very near, and everything is in walking...

What a fabulous hotel. Ideally placed if you are visiting the sights of Athens. It is in easy walking distance from the famous Plaka District and Monastiraki Square and Flea Market. From the front of roof garden, you have the most amazing views of the National Gardens, the Presidential Guards strutting their stuff in front of the Greek Parliament Building...

The location of this hotel couldn't be better, right opposite the national gardens and down the road from the Parliament buildings. Athens cultural area is easy to walk round and this hotel is perfectly situated for this. The staff were friendly and efficient. The only downside of the location is it is a bit noisy but you get used to...

Just returned after a 4 day break with my in-laws. Rooms are spacious & we overlooked the gardens to the front of the hotel & although there is a very busy main road once in your room & door closed you could not hear the traffic. We also had a balcony. Lovely bathroom. We ate in the restaurant one evening...

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
