If I can recommend one thing to anyone considering this hotel it is that you should absolutely pay for a room with the view of the acropolis. My girlfriend and I were able to lay in our bed and view the wonderful entirety of the acropolis. It was absolutely stunning. In addition to the beautiful views... the room, staff, and...

It holds five official stars and after my recent stay I can assure that it is an astonishing hotel and a great pick. Upon arrival the bell man on duty offered to assist us with our luggage but I asked to take it inside ourselves as it was only a small carry on. We stepped in to find ourselves in...

This is a lovely hotel in the Planka neighborhood of Athens. The staff could not be more helpful. The hotel is very conveniently located within easy walking distance to the Acropolis and other sites as well as the numerous museums. The Jewish Museum of Greece is just around the corner and well worth a visit. Great shopping area and close...

A very nice hotel. In the middle of the city, close to everywhere. Outside pool is small but excellent with one of the best views in the world(The Acropolis). Stuff are nice and helpful. Very good breakfast buffet. Beds are comfortable. Free WiFi. A very nice hotel - than again location is perfect - a walking distance from everywhere.

The rooms are a little old fashioned. Only negative. The spa in the electra palace was absolutely phenomenal. After two days of travel as an abroad student (waiting to meet my mother), and full of exhaustion, I needed some tender, loving, care. The two women at the spa were so incredibly kind to me and did the most amazing full...

My father and I stayed at this hotel, unfortunately we arrived very early so they didn't have any rooms available however we were able to stay on the sofa and had breakfast at 7am. Overall this trip was fantastic, one of our best holidays yet and we were so happy that we didn't listen to the negative reviews as we...

I was there for a business trip end of January, and while the pictures on the booking website sound great, I was disappointed by the quality of the room and bathroom. Very old, and not up to a 5 stars as I would have expected. The WiFi was expensive for a mild wifi connexion. The spa is very small. The...

This hotel was a real treat for our family. The location was ideal, walking distance to the Acropolis and wonderful places to eat and walk in the Plaka. View of the Acropolis from the room was so fun. The tasty buffet breakfasts with both Greek and American selections was a great start to each day. Service staff were friendly and...

Booked a suite and got bumped up to the presidential suite with its own pool. It had a great view of the Acropolis from it's own private balcony. Staff couldn't be better from check in to breakfast that was included everything was excellent. Bed was very comfortable. Air conditioning available but really we just kept the windows open.

Couple of days spent here on a sight seeing trip before going to Crete. Hotel is adequate and very nice welcome. Room we took was a standard double and the outlook from the bedroom over the rear is poor - looking into other people's apartments - to be avoided. Also room is small and a little cramped with no separate...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
