The Electra Palace was an astonishing hotel, beautifully appointed and very well located. Fantastic rooftop pool and restaurant. My top recommendation for a few days stay in Athens. Don't miss it. Fantastic place.

This was a great hotel. It is close to anywhere you need to be. Not too noisy outside. The customer service was great! I was there with my husband and daughter. We asked for advice about a guide and Elena and others at the front desk called John Ventiroso, a private guide. They said he was the "best in Athens,"...

I travel to Athens frequently and I have stayed at many hotels there. But the Electra Palace Hotel is my favorite. It is centrally located, yet away from the bustle of the city. It is a short walk to sites, restaurants and shops. The hotel has a friendly personable staff, many of whom have been there for decades (always a...

The breakfast buffet was extensive with a lot of fresh hot and cold options. The lobby was inviting and warm. The location is perfect and walking distance from...

The Spa was excellent as always. The best massages I have had have both been here and I would highly recommend. The staff Marina, Elena and Tena are...

I had a great experience staying at Electra Palace Athens Arrival: We arrived around 6-7pm and had taken a taxi from the airport (tip: uber charges 29 euro while the flat taxi rate is 38 euro) Check-in was very quick and easy and the front desk staff is very helpful. Room: The room is spacious and the beds were very...

Central location in Plaka, close to The Acropolis. Comfortable room if a little small. Helpful & professional staff. Super breakfast buffet. Shame about the graffiti on buildings nearby and in Athens generally but not the hotel's fault of course. Room with view of the Parthenon is worth the extra cost.

What a wonderful hotel and the staff are wonderful...nothing was too much trouble. Definitely coming back again. Couldn't fault anything....The view from the restaurant terrace ....WOW!! Food was exceptional....wonderful uncomplicated menu. My steak was not quite cooked the way I like it ...but when sent back it returned perfectly cooked......attention to detail was perfect.

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
