This hotel is in prime location and walking distance to all main sights, Plaka restaurants and shopping. Staff were always helpful and friendly. Breakfast was included and with excellent choices. Metro station only a 5 minute walk.

An excellent location for sightseeing. Choose a room facing the Acropolis - quiet and not hot plus excellent views. Good breakfast. Very helpful reception. Clean. Free internet. Lots of instant hot water.

As a family we thoroughly enjoyed 3 nights at the hotel. We booked two rooms which had connecting doors which worked perfectly for 2 adults and 2 kids. Extremely well positioned hotel with walking distance to all tourists attractions. Hotel reception was able to book tours even on short notice. All staff was extremely friendly with genuine service. Breakfast was...

To start, parking is a pain. There is no place to park during check in so after circling the streets for 30 minutes I finally parked in front, on the street, blocking a traffic lane. Front desk staff was really great. The rooftop restaurant has amazing views and good service. The room itself was horrible. My room faced the street...

Excellent hotel, ideally positioned, beautiful views. Close to main attractions/sites of interest. Scrupulously clean room, friendly, helpful staff. Stunning views from roof garden restaurant. Easily strollable to all major site seeing spots. Breakfast buffet was plentiful - cereals, fruits, juices, boiled eggs, cold meats, cheeses, hot bacon, fried eggs, scrambled eggs, omelettes, sauteed potatoes, toast, cakes, pastries etc. Evening meal...

The best rooftop restaurant! Excellent breakfast buffet, and an unbeatable view for the evening . Great location convenient to Acropolis, Temple of Olympic Zeus, National Garden, the Plaka, Syntagma Square, etc. Attentive, professional staff. Comfortable, well-maintained rooms. I've stayed there twice, and hope to stay again soon.

Really good location. Staff assisted with booking tours and directions around city. Good breakfast buffet. Only complaint the metal door stop for bathroom door sticks up in the middle of the floor and creates a safety hazard. My wife stubbed her toe badly on the door stop. Can't figure out why the stop is located where it is.

The service is amazing. When waiting to check in,we were served water and sweets. They were very accommodating, checking us in early and giving us breakfast the same day in lieu of us checking out early the next day. The rooms were clean and comfortable. If anything, an exhaust in the bathroom would have been nice. The balcony was very...

Great hotel. Location superb and rooftop bar had a great view with a breakfast that set us up for the day Shame on last day that the taxi firm taking us to the airport booked through the hotel tried to charge us 6 euros'credit card fee' above the agreed rate. Eventually landing on the original fee but after quite some...

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
