We chose to stay in Athens as we needed to stay one night in Athens due to our ferry and flight times not being very agreeable, and chose the Novotel based on price, especially for a room for two adults and two children. Firstly, the area the hotel in needs no further elaboration as other reviews capture this well -...

We arrived around 8am in the morning on the ferry from Rhodes. I asked the receptionist if there was somewhere we could leave our bags until the room was ready and much to my suprise she said they had a room ready for us at no extra charge. Room was spacious and comfortable. I was travelling with my 16 year...

We agree with the other reviewers on the seedy location. Lovely clean hotel and rooms. Bathroom was clean & modern and with lots of towels.Flat screen tv.Nice friendly staff. We didn't eat at the restaurants downstairs, but we eat at the restaurant by the pool on the roof. Food was good, large portions but a little expensive. Hamburger with french...

We had all of the conveniences of home at this hotel. We had internet (free), a large room by European standards, enough room for my husband and I (a REAL king bed- not two singles pushed together) and my son (sofabed), AIR CONDITIONING, and a really nice restroom. The staff was also very helpful in calling taxis, storing luggage for...

This hotel is nice, however it said it was "right by the Acropolis" which is not true at all! The area around it is somewhat run down & its at least 10min walk to the metro to get where you want to go (Placa etc). Restaurant in the hotel is awful food and even worse service, and very overpriced. Staff...

I'm not really sure what all the fuss is about with reviewers saying this is a terrible location. It almost put me off booking but I'm glad I still went ahead. The seven minute walk to Larissa station is absolutely fine, even after dark, and the metro ride into the centre is fast, cheap and efficient. The hotel itself is...

I totally agree with most of the reviews here. I stayed here for two nights with a female friend. We'd both been to Athens before but usually staying with friends. The room was very clean, comfortable, spacious and modern. We got the room at a special rate without breakfast and at 15 euro we ate elsewhere. The staff were extremely...

A typical Novotel. Excellent room, good service and quality breakfast. Good value, comfortable hotel. Good swimming pool with views of Acopolis. The location though is a problem. It is ok from Larissa metro station and the area around the hotel to Omonia is ok during the day but should be avoided at night especially by solo women. Usual big city caution...

Don't worry about the area. My family and I stayed here for five nights. We didn't once see a prostitute or drug addict - even at 1:00 in the morning. We saw only one person huffing from a bag near Omonia. Nothing next to the hotel. You will have to travel into town for evening meals. 3 Euro for my...
