The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Plaka and surrounding ruins. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very clean and charming. The view of the Acropolis from our room was breathtaking. Be sure to go up to the roof to get a sunset view/photo - the rooftop terrace...

We were amazed at the excellent quality of service and room. We stayed at this hotel as our last leg on in Athens after visiting other places in Greece. We mainly booked this hotel as a place to sleep for one night before our flight back and had been in Crete earlier. Since we didn't want to lug so much...

This hotel is faultless. In the best location for sightseeing. THE most helpful and friendliest reception staff I have ever met. They all made a fuss of my 2 year old son. Check in and out was very efficient. Rooms was spotless and beautifully presented. Staff were able to advise on the best way to maximise our stay and see...

I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in October 2014. The room was bright with large windows and a soft, comfortable bed. The hotel is just off Monastiraki square, and a 15 minute walk from the Acropolis; wonderful location. So many delicious restaurants nearby. The Acropolis view from the rooftop bar is jaw-droppingly beautiful. If the weather had been...

Highly recommended! I am struggling to find anything negative... Positives: 1. Perfect location: withing walking distance of Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Hadrian's Library, Archeological Museum, Syntagma Square. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops. 2. Nice rooms and spotlessly clean 3. Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. A member of staff comes to you at breakfast to ask if everything is OK...

The Plaka hotel was excellent. Maria G greeted us at breakfast and informed us on the daily timetable. Breakfast was fantastic. The cheese and spinach pastries, rice custard, kalamata olives, greek salad, yoghurt, boiled and scrambled eggs were yummy. The bacon and sausages were tasty. This hotel is non smoking but some people like to do the wrong thing. The...

The view from the rooftop bar was stunning - but even the supplied blankets and gas heater couldn't make us stay beyond one drink. Others reviews had said it all, room, breakfast, location, help from the girl at breakfast was excellent. We were going to return to this hotel for the last three nights but their prices had gone through...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
