Hotel is really good. Very clean rooms and just few steps from the metro station and train to the airport and especially in the Athens with the possibility to go on all the sites on foot like Acropolis and Agora.Overlooking the beautiful Acropolis.

The Plaka Hotel is in a great location if you are planning on walking or taking public transportation in Athens. It was easy to get to from the airport and is within walking distance of many of Athens' major sites. The view from the rooftop of the Acropolis was amazing and was well worth braving the cold, although they do...

After a magical week in Oia, Santorini, we were worried that Athens could never match that level of comfort and beauty; however, we were not disappointed by Athens in the least, and in great part that was due to Plaka Hotel- I can't imagine a better place to stay. The view is breathtaking and I'm sure can't be matched by...

Dear Artemis BP Your promise to return makes us very proud! We thank you for taking the time to share your positive experience on Tripadvisor. As for your comment about the graffiti, unfortunately this is something that you see everywhere in Athens nowadays, even at the best and most safe areas like Plaka. We are very sorry for the bad...

This just needs to be posted: Expedia.com double-charged me, and Christina in the Customer Service Dept. of the Plaka kept in contact with them until they caved! I am reeling from the positive Customer Service I got from this hotel. How often does that happen? I had a similar problem with a Best Western in Paris, and they just looked...

The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the Plaka and surrounding ruins. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend this hotel. The rooms were very clean and charming. The view of the Acropolis from our room was breathtaking. Be sure to go up to the roof to get a sunset view/photo - the rooftop terrace...

We were amazed at the excellent quality of service and room. We stayed at this hotel as our last leg on in Athens after visiting other places in Greece. We mainly booked this hotel as a place to sleep for one night before our flight back and had been in Crete earlier. Since we didn't want to lug so much...

This hotel is faultless. In the best location for sightseeing. THE most helpful and friendliest reception staff I have ever met. They all made a fuss of my 2 year old son. I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in October 2014. The room was bright with large windows and a soft, comfortable bed. The hotel is just off Monastiraki square, and a 15 minute walk from the Acropolis; wonderful location. So many delicious restaurants nearby. The Acropolis view from the rooftop bar is jaw-droppingly beautiful. If the weather had been...

Highly recommended! I am struggling to find anything negative... Positives: 1. Perfect location: withing walking distance of Acropolis, Ancient Agora, Hadrian's Library, Archeological Museum, Syntagma Square. Plenty of restaurants, cafes and shops. 2. Nice rooms and spotlessly clean 3. Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. A member of staff comes to you at breakfast to ask if everything is OK...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
