Plaka Hotel, Athens is magnificently situated with clean comfortable rooms, friendly and helpful staff, lovely breakfast selection catering for all preferences and a stunning rooftop bar. From here you can see the Parthenon, which is lit up at night, providing a magic spot for cocktails in the evening. Tea, coffee and biscuits freely available all day in the dining room....

This hotel is perfectly located for the highlights of Athens. Only a short walk from all the major historical sights it made planning our time in Athens really easy to ensure we did not miss anything. The rooms are well presented & clean. We had a small balcony from which we could see the corner of the Acropolis, however some...

We stayed here for one night prior to a cruise. Great service. Loved complimentary local fruit in room and bottle of wine. 20 minute walk to Acropolis. Good location for shopping in Plaka. Exceeded expectations based on price in a major city. Some rooms have the same view of Acropolis that you get from the roof.

The Plaka is now one of my favourite hotels. I was very looking forward to our stay here. We arrived late afternoon and the check in was a breeze, the reception staff gave us pamphlets of things to do including the hop on hop off bus and the metro map. These came in handy. The room was on level 4...

This hotel is well situated in Athens at a walking distance from main square and Acropole. It is convenient as u dont need a car and can visit / eat and enjoy Athens life from there. It's close by bus stop from airport. The big advantage of the hotel is to have a roof terrass with night view on Parthenon....

We stayed for 3 nights and really had a enjoyable time. From the time we checked in, with a welcome tray of wine and fruit and pastries brought to our room till we checked out it was great. The Plaka hotel is in a great position, so close to great restaurants , the market district and the upmarket shopping area....

It's all a matter of reference point. If your reference point is The Four Seasons, you're going to be very disappointed in this hotel. It's somewhat tired and rife with oddities indicative of a hotel that doesn't have the resources to cater to the finer details. For example, though the picture shows nice furniture on the rooftop, most of the...

We stayed two quick nights in Athens before leaving for the Greek Islands. Great hotel, central location, lots of shopping and restaurants nearby. The staff was wonderful with great recommendations for restaurants and tours. The included breakfast was also good. The view from the rooftop bar is not to be missed!

This hotel was easy to get to from public transit and is located in a convenient area of Athens. You could walk to many of the sights and the roof top deck has an amazing view of the Acropolis. Lots of shopping and great places to eat. I would highly recommend staying here on your next visit to Athens.

There are a lot of other hotels in Athens that would be better than the Plaka Hotel. But the Plaka Hotel is in the heart of Athens, only one minutes walk to the plaka, ermou, and monstiraki, it is a clean hotel, good rooms, good staff, there would not be too much more that I could ask for. I have...

Staying in Plaka

Neighbourhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
