The location of the Acropolis Hill hotel could not be better! It's right in the centre of the city, but on a nice, quiet street. It has the most amazing view of not only the Acropolis but also the whole city, and if you want to visit the Acropolis it's just around the corner! The hotel itself is very nice...

I enjoyed my stay. The location of the hotel is perfect, rooms are clean but a little small. The bed was big and comfortable, but you literally had jump over the bed to get to other site of the room. Also, the view is really nice from the balconies.Breakfast could be better. There is a small issue about the shower,as well.Water comes out to the rest of...

Walk out onto the deck and THERE IS THE ACROPOLIS; what a view. (At the front of the hotel we were located.) Within walking distance of THE ACROPOLIS and other sites around Athens. Do feel free to peruse my photos showing the proximity of the hotel to the aforementioned sites; we would go back to this hotel in a "heartbeat";...

The hotel itself is reasonably clean. The rooms are tiny - you have to walk sideways to get past the beds to the balcony. The breakfast was nothing special. The service from the front desk staff was ok. The great thing about this hotel is the location. You can walk to the Acropolis, Filopappou Hill, Plaka, museums and other attractions....

not easy to find but then its position is really appreciable as its high rooms (over 5th floor) for the view on the town and Acropolis. nice but not large room, clean, good staff. good sleep but my room was not on the street that, anyway, does not seem too busy.

This hotel is in a great location, just 10 minutes walk to the acropolis, central plaka and the nearest metro stop. The hotel is very clean and kept in great condition. The breakfast was very good and there was plenty on offer. The hotel has a good roof terrace with views of the acropolis. The swimming pool was somewhat smaller...

Room is clean, a little tiny. Staffs were okay. Location isn't all great, as the name suggests, it is situated on a hill, a steep hill indeed. Requires a bit of walking to the nearest subway station. And good workout - walking up and down the hill!

Dear 512Carmen, Thank you for choosing the Acropolis Hill for you stay in Athens! Most of our guests choose the hotel for the very central location and the walking distance to all the major archaeologicalsites. Athens is a city where the traffic can be really bad, and thus being located right next to the Acropolis, Plaka, the Ancient Agora, the...

I like this Hotel. It feels at the edge of town and in the middle of town, both remote and central; on one side Philopappou, the steep hill of the pine trees, on the on the other, the panorama of the Polis, Athens, overseen by the Acropolis. It is a clean and quite place.

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighbourhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianised Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centrepiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
