Traveled to Athens with family. Absolutely loved this hostel. Staff very friendly and helpful all the time. Premises very clean showing a great respect for all visitors. The bar on the 6th floor (actually the roof of the building) and the view offered of surrounding places is amazing. The view of the Acropolis is breath taking and all with the... More

Clever bit of marketing by giving the impression that I was booking a single room with private bathroom facilities. Far from it for that price. It's a shared room and nothing is private about it. The room looked so depressing and I can see thoughts of suicide for longer than a single night's stay. I automatically went to reception and... More

Very few hostels in Europe have decent self-catering facilities but this one was an exception; there was everything we needed to cook a meal and a decent one at that. The location is perfect right in the centre of the city and within walking distance of all major attractions. Staff were very friendly. Only downfall was that our beds were... More

Stayed for a couple of nights before my trip and then one night after my trip in this hostel. The first couple of nights were fine, I had an OK dorm room with a decent shower and bathroom however on my second time staying here the room was smaller, dirtier and the bathroom wasn't as great. The location is fantastic... More

Stayed here for 3 nights and was absolutely fine. Staff were so extremely helpful and lovely - helped me with any questions or problems I had. Hostel is so close to everything and yet on a fairly quiet side street. Very easy to get to from Monastiraki station. Stayed in a 10 bed dorm and whilst the beds were comfy... More

It was an average hostel. Only one guy from the reception was nice. The other ones were so not helpful at all and kind of rude. The rooftop was advertised as an amazing place but it was just ok. The elevator was super small and it didn't go all the way to the basement (where the lockers were). The surroundings... More

It's a good hostel, firstly close to monastiraki station! Which is handy for those continuing on to the islands. It serves a direct line to Piraeus the green line! Close to the Acropolis and the centre with lots of Cafes and food choices! Security is good, and there is a rooftop bar / restaurant with views of the Parthenon! Showers... More

I stayed in this with busabout. It's a nice hostel. First I stayed in a 4 bed female dorm with ensuite that's was nice. And last 3 nights stayed in 6 bed female dorm. Free wi fi which is good! Right in the middle of the centre. From what I gathered from others spend a little bit more to stay... More

I've stayed here twice recently - the first time wasn't very good. The room itself was fine but the toilet and shower wasn't up to standard. One tiny little light in the shower, you may as well have showered in the dark. The second stay I ended up in a different room and it was a bit better. Bathroom was... More

Staying in Psirri / Gazi

Neighbourhood Profile
Psirri / Gazi
Side-by-side neighbourhoods Psirri and Gazi provide some of the city’s prime nightlife. The almost claustrophobic streets of Psirri feature an interesting blend of original small businesses with the restaurants, cafés and bars that have recently sprouted up. The central artery of Agion Anargiron Street has lively places to eat or drink. Further west, you can visit the peaceful ancient cemetery of Keramikos, then cross busy Pireos Street to find yourself in Gazi. With the huge Technopolis performance and art complex converted from old gasworks at its heart, you really have to come at night to appreciate this maze of bars at its best, although a daytime stroll will allow you to admire the excellent street art.
