The hotel is located about a 5 minute walk to the Victoria metro station where you can hop a train to all the central sights. I had a smallish room on the 3rd floor. Firm but comfortable bed, modern clean bathroom. Storage is limited and there was no chair at the desk. Breakfast buffet was included in the room price...

The hotel really close to the historical center and has a your public and staff, and not in a party crazed way. Andreas, one of the concierges was amazing and gave me the best hints around town, as well as a more than detailed map explanation. Everything was truly amazing. Definitely recommend it!

We had the suite at 7th floor which is the only accommodation at that floor. Beautiful views over the city from two balconies. Nice location and interesting neighborhood with a lot of local business. 500m to a good variety of nice restaurants and 10min to the metro that takes you right in to the center

I had booked two night with this hotel, but when I arrived they had some plumbing issues and couldn't accommodate me that night. He assured me the would have it fixed in the morning. Arrangements had already been made for me to stay at the Best Western down the street. They offered to call me a taxi, but I offered...

We stayed in Athens for a few days prior to a spot of island hopping. The hotel was modern and clean & the staff were polite and very helpful. The hotel is located a few doors away from the 5 star Radission (albeit around the corner). The Victoria Metro station is a short walk away as is the National Archaeological...

Whilst a little out of the main tourist area the access to Victoria metro is only a quick walk ay and direct access to all of Athens. We had a deluxe double room (#503) which was huge. Well worth the few extra Euros as it also had a balcony which was at least 20m2 itself with table and chairs and...

Stayed for 3 nights at Areos Hotel. From the outside, with the big neon sign it looks like a cheap 2 star motel. We booked a suite which was on the 6 floor and wasn't noisy. The hotel is in an 'interesting' neighbourhood near a polytechnic school which introduces quite a variety of student characters. Hotel is about 10 minutes...

Small rooms but very cozy. Plus, you didn't come to Athens to chill in the hotel room. Extremely helpful guy at the front desk (I didn't catch his name but he has glasses). Ask him for recommendations! Breakfast is good, very simple, and included in the price. Not too far of a walk from Victoria station (metro).

I stand in awe as Antony at the front desk told me the room does not come with drinking water. This is my 2nd stay in Areos. The 1st was in a deluxe double room that came with 2 bottle of water. Since I am transiting, I booked a small room. To my shock, it did not come with drinking...

Had a really good stay in the Areos hotel, it is small, friendly, clean and had excellent service. Good sized rooms, immaculate bathroom and staff that went above and beyond. Great value for money! The area behind the hotel is not the best, but it is more than possible to avoid this and get in and out of town easily.

Thank Becky H

Staying in Exarchia

Neighbourhood Profile
Exarchia is in many ways Athens’ best-kept secret, discovered by relatively few international visitors. Located behind the main University and Polytechnic buildings, it is unsurprisingly home to many students, intellectuals and politicos. This is reflected in the area’s vibrant street art and graffiti, which seems to cover almost every inch of wall space. Some of the best Athenian tavernas are located here, as well as its most alternative bars and underground music venues. You'll find political bookshops and quirky stores here, yet it is also a neighborhood inhabited by families and older folk. On Saturdays, punks and grandmothers alike head for Kallidromiou Street, nestled below Strefi Hill, to pick up fresh produce at the traditional laiki agora (street market).
