This was the 5th and final resort we stayed at during our time in Singapore and Thailand and by far had the best customer service. Staff were all very friendly, helpful and professional at all times. There is an app which is used to speak to concierge and order room service, amenities etc. Replies were always prompts and requests dealt with efficiently. Food wise-we weren’t very keen on the breakfast buffet selection but then learnt that breakfast dishes can be ordered on the app and delivered to your room which was great! We had dinner and dessert once at the restaurant and enjoyed it. A highlight for us was the Thai cooking call we took with chef Lem (could possibly be Lex). He was a great teacher and we thoroughly enjoyed the class, I’d highly recommend this. We didn’t spend much time at the resort pools as we had our own in our villa. We stayed in the Sala garden pool villa. The bedroom was slightly on the small size but did have everything we needed. I wasn’t aware until we reached the room that the bathroom was all outdoors, although ceiling was covered. It’s not my personal preference but aware that many people enjoy this. The pool was a good size, slightly deep for me at 1.5m, but that’s because I can’t swim! All in all, we really enjoyed our time here and would return but perhaps stay in one of the other villas.

I cannot tell you how much we love this hotel. Any criticisms I have are purely subjective and didn’t hinder our stay at all. Also many of the things I would have liked to be different, to fix them would create different problems, so leave some of them as they are. I loved the room and its outdoor bathroom. I LIVED for the outdoor shower and bathroom. I loved them so much! The prices for everything were very reasonable for a high end hotel, besides the spa (but then every hotel prices too high in the spas, it would be nice for one to break the mould). The food and drink prices were very, very good. They have an app they get you to download It made asking for things and talking with reception super easy and frictionless without a language problem, as it’s all over a messaging system. They responded quickly. The pools, the restaurant and bars are perfect. Not too light, not too dark. It felt like a boutique hotel. Intermit and inviting. Some of the large chairs in the restaurant are too big to move, so you can’t get close the the table. But that’s the only thing I could fault. The food was fanatic. The head chef should be commended for the al la carte menu. Breakfast dishes off the menu, were relatable yet perfectly elevated. The chocolate cakes were rich in honey. I loved the food. All the chefs should be highly praised for executing the head chefs dishes perfectly and consistently. Every single member of staff was perfect. Friendly without being overbearing, and leave you in peace without being too far away. Doing anything in the hotel felt frictionless, such as using the beach equipment. It was so nice to use this without filling in silly forms. To all the staff that made this such a special place. This was our favourite hotel stay ever and we will absolutely will be back.

This was our second stay at the hotel and despite it being far busier than the first, the excellent all round service remained the same. As a complete package, value for money and service and facilities you will find no better on the island. All the staff are exceptionally helpful, but special mention must go to the breakfast team , the Spa ladies and the beach boys. They all made it a memorable stay again. In addition the management are hands on and always there to assist when needed. Having stayed in various hotels on the island Sala Choengmon remains our favourite and we will be booking another stay in December.

The Sala Samui Cheongmon was great. We’ve enjoyed the cozy rooms, the pools, and the extraordinary service. We've especially loved the extras, like the good night drink. The food at breakfast and the special Thai evening were delicious. We were at first suspicious about the privacy in the outdoors bathrooms, but that was no problem at all. You just need to expect some animals like birds looking at you while showering, or sweet geckos, snails, and, of course, annoying mosquitos. The staff was eager to provide a solution, like mosquito repellents. We can also recommend turning on the fan during night. The area was rather calm and yet offered many options for food and drinks. The beach was fine and calm, but unfortunately the sea was full of rocks, so make sure to take bathing shoes with you. The hotel provided complimentary SUPs and kayaks.

Our first stop via Bangkok was Koh Samui. We were a group of 4 and had booked adjoining pool villas in Sala Choengmon on the recommendation of friends. The villas and their private pools were spacious, clean and the air conditioning was great. The housekeeping services were responsive and quick. The front office staff was warm and welcoming. The breakfast spread was sufficient though I may suggest that the staff is updated on the nuances and cutlery required while serving crustacean sea-food, of which we partook over dinner. Chef WAT was himself in-charge of the guests and promptly addressed all our special requests. I would surely recommend this hotel for any first time visitors to the island. Replete with a clean beach and fantastic views of the sea, it is a good place to unwind.

Having been postponed for 2 years due to covid, in July 2022 we enjoyed our 8th visit to Sala Samui and it just gets better and better each time; the most perfect resort. How fortunate we are to have found the gem that is Sala Samui during our honeymoon in 2006 and having travelled extensively around Asia and beyond since, Sala Samui has and will always remain our number 1 top choice for an outstanding holiday experience, whether as a couple, or in more recent years as a family with a young child. Sala Samui Choengmon never ever disappoints and from our experience, it is a resort in Koh Samui that cannot be beaten. Everything about the resort is incredible; the setting directly on the beach to enjoy watching the sunset, the 2 immaculate pools, the beautiful rooms with luxurious outdoor bathrooms and private pool, the exceptional restaurant offering delicious lunch and dinner with a spectacular breakfast which includes buffet style, al a carte options and also daily specials with everything cooked perfectly fresh to order. The MOST beautiful thing about Sala Samui however is the staff. From the moment you are greeted at the airport to the minute you leave Sala Samui to go home, the level of service, attention to detail and genuine care is truly outstanding. Each and every single member of staff go above and beyond, ensuring that they know each guest and family well in order to tailor a personalized service, all with genuine enjoyment and a love of what they do. The staff at Sala Samui are so skilled in that they manage to work in a slick and professional manner, but also are very warm and friendly. We wish we could remember the name of every single member of staff as all deserve such praise, however special thanks to: As ever Oom and Amanda, two fabulous ladies who really do epitomize service with a smile. They lead their team in such a highly professional and dignified manner, always doing everything and anything they can to meet the needs of their guests. These ladies make Sala Samui the special place that it is! Also Mam for such beautifully kind, attentive and personalized service in the restaurant Thank you to Parn! As soon as we walked to the bar he recognized our little boy from previous visits. Parn is an outstanding bartender. As a family we never really needed to ask for our drinks as he would always remember our order and the little extras we like. I will see you in Feb 2023 for my vodka and diet coke with lime, Parn! Joy from the Reception desk and colleagues. Such a very very professional, kind and friendly lady and team who are so welcoming, especially to our little boy Leo. Joy ensured that he was able to feed the fish every day and just instantly made us feel so very comfortable and at home. Tian and her male colleague went above and beyond during our stay after my husband dropped glass onto his foot at 10pm. They swiftly arrived to our room and performed first aid. They showed great skill and knowledge whilst caring for for my Husband in such a very calm manner so as not to scare our 6 year old. Housekeeping also arrived to clear the broken glass and clean the blood and despite it being late, it was done with a smile and as always, looking for extra ways to help. Tian was on leave for 2 days after my Husband injured his foot but she immediately checked up on his condition upon her return to work. The Housekeeping Team for the care and attention they gave to our room and for the much appreciated evening turndown service. We spent the majority of the time enjoying this beautiful resort, however for those looking for a variety there are restaurants and bars along the beach right next to Sala Samui, Fisherman's Village a short drive away (300 bhat) with boutique shops, night market and restaurants and also the much busier area of Chaweng. There really is no better place in Koh Samui than Sala Samui.

Love the hotel design but the service is inconsistent. Staff are friendly, but there is a lot lost in translation, or maybe apathy! At check in they asked us to choose our pillows and scents for the bath soaps, but upon entering our room, none of our choices were in the room! No big deal, we just used the app to order the pillows and soaps again. While at the beach the app says our order was completed but when we got back to our room we only received one pillow and one soap and we ordered two of each. We left our room again and followed up with them to deliver another one and they responded that they had already delivered it so we assumed it was done again. But when we returned at the end of the day there was nothing! Again, it was no big deal- we just told them to deliver it the next day which they finally did. The next morning at breakfast my husband went to get juice at the buffet and when he opened the bottle, it exploded and juice went everywhere. He thought it was unusual but just filled his glass anyway, but when he went to drink it, it smelled rotten. We told the wait staff that the juice may be bad and she came over and apologized profusely saying it was her fault and she was meant to check the juices in that morning but did not. She felt really bad. But we understand that this happens, so we let it pass. But they also got our breakfast order wrong a number of times. We attended yoga and after the class the instructor apologized for not having any towels for us (as it was a really hot day), and she said they were locked in a closet and she didn't have a key. There was also a member of their staff taking photos during the yoga session which I thought was inappropriate and very distracting. If they are want photos for promotion they should be asking for consent. Anyway...the last complaint I had was that we originally booked for two nights online. Upon check in they said we had a 20% discount on food at the restaurant. We decided to extend our stay for a third night online and then again for a fourth night by just telling the hotel. I confirmed with them on the third night about the discount and they said yes, so we ate at the restaurant assuming we still had the discount and the staff said they would apply it during checkout, but when we received our bill the next day there was no discount added. I followed up with them and they said because we extended our stay online for the third night(which we did for our first booking as well) we did not get the discount. Honestly we only ate at the restaurant because we thought we had this discount because it is way overpriced. In the end, after pressing them they said we could have the discount. Turn down service was also hit and miss- sometimes they cleaned our coffee cups and sometimes not. It also took them more than 1 hour to deliver ice because they sent it to the wrong room- with multiple follow ups (see photos and look at the time). So, some of these things were not that big of a deal, but when you add it all up it just didn't make for a seamless stay. It's a shame, the property is nice but if the service can't deliver then I'd be tempted to stay somewhere else on our return to Samui. Would be good for them to have some kind of quality control or more staff training.

This hotel understands the concept of service very well, the staff was over friendly at all times. The location is nice at the beach, the pool and restaurant area very nice. The Breakfast was interesting but superb with many menu options included and an excellent buffet. We had a standard room and it was too small. My son (1.80) slept on a third bed which was a couch not long enough and lop sided so he fell out. And the 3rd bed came with a steep price. With 3 people in the room we had about 0.5 meter of spare room to move around the beds. For this price the room is not up to standard. Also it was all the way in the back of the grounds and we had to walk in between all the walls of the rooms with private pools to get to the common pool area. It seems strange to put all the rooms with huge walls in the front with no view and the rooms with a view in the back. Now nobody has a sea view. Also the temperature of the common pools was too low. We went in for a swim now and then but longer than 10 minutes was getting too cold unless you did laps as a sport. The last thing was the pricing of the food and spa. The spa massage was 3000 Baht when just down the road it was 300 Baht at a local spa. The food and drinks where ridiculously expensive.
