It is my 2nd stay in Antigua joining my boyfriend who was on a business trip. He always stayed at HBK Villas but the last one was the worst out of 3 places he/we experienced. The villa is dirty and despite of claims hasn’t been cleaned properly. Even if you wanted to clean yourself, there is no cleaning equipment provided. Kitchen equipment is also very limited. The dishwasher is theoretically here but if you try to open it, it comes out of the cupboard, so we were afraid to use it, which was a shame bearing in mind island’s problems with water. Air-con in the leaving room does work. It doesn’t cool, however. Air-cons in bedrooms work randomly, so you’d better don’t try to tinker with temperature- just enjoy what is offered. The drainage system is partially blocked, so water leaves sinks very slowly. TV does work, it’s connection to the cable doesn’t, so if you have no netflix account, you cannot watch anything. There is a 2cm gap over the entry door, which was partially fixed with .. a sticky tape. Despite of multiple reports and calls to the landlord, response was very slow and only some slags were being addressed (don’t mix it up with “fixed”) for 3 weeks of the stay. And there is no internet either. As this was a business trip and i was just tagging on - i took it as it came, i can imagine, however, that somebody’s well deserved and hard earned holidays cam be ruined.

I write this review awaiting my transport to the airport. My husband and I spent a lovely 10 nights in Villa 226B. This is our 4th trip to Antigua and our first with HBK Villas. Our villa was spacious and a perfect home base for exploring this perfect island. The kitchen was perfect for us. We had breakfast here each morning and the occasional dinner. We didn’t find anything lacking. HBK provides beach towels that they will refresh as often as you like. They also provide beach chairs at Jolly Harbor Beach daily. Simply let the chair providers know you are with HBK and then choose the chairs you’d like. We would walk all the way to end of the busy area and spend our afternoons enjoying perfect sunsets. We were surprised to find that the plugs were 220 with plugs that do not work for our American 110 plugs. In our past trips to Antigua, that was not the case. So, we were unprepared. No worries. HBK was prepared with adapters so that I could keep our electronics charged and ready to go for the next day. WiFi is provided. Although we read complaints that it is slow, my experience is that issues seems to be island wide and not the fault of the villa owners or HBK. Finally, we found each villa has its own personality that reflects the owner’s style and hometown. We were able to see pictures online of each villa and choose the view and style that fit us best. We are looking forward to our next stay.

We rented a golf cart from this company. Golf carts are in poor condition. Had to take back three times. On our last day of rental they came and took the golf cart from our condo Three hours early. We were out when they came and took it.We thought it was stolen.

Stayed in villa 336 in January 2019. Villa on outside and quick view looked pretty spacious with good view of the harbor. The inside however looked very different. The villa is quite rundown and needs renovations/repairs. Kitchen has not been used for years probably - there is intense moldy odor inside all cupboards and cabinets which also covered all cups, forks and cutting board. We had to wash plates several times just to get the smell off. Exhaust fan in kitchen does not work; frying pan is completely deformed - we could not even fry eggs in the morning. Similarly many appliances in villa either did not work or had intense mold odor. The villa had WiFi router but it would stop working every 2-3 hours and needed to be rebooted all the time Shower heads covered in mold and rust, were barely working. Mosquitoes screens damaged in many areas and had several small holes. The management did not have provide any garbage bags, washing liquid for kitchen, paper towels, sponge for washing dishes, etc.. for us staying 1 week we had to buy all of these in our 1st day. We rented villas many times before on different islands and in all of other places all these were provided, even in small quantities. Overall, this was very unpleasant and disappointing experience with the villa and the management company that "manages" it. Not worth the money at all!

This was our 3rd year with HBK and had been pretty happy with them. This year we stayed 5 weeks. A couple of weeks in, an accident resulted in a cracked mirrored door. We advised HBK later that morning. We heard nothing more until an invoice was presented less than an hour before our departure. $600US! My husband expressed his displeasure at the amount and timing, and said we would pay a properly itemized invoice when they could send details. That resulted in a hand delivered letter from the office that left us feeling there might be trouble at the airport if we didn't pay up at once. We always pay our debts, but that felt like extortion. Up until that day I loved Antigua. We'll never go back.
