The perfect location for summer holidays or a golf break
Had a fabulous 6 days at the resort, while playing all 3 courses. Interesting they were all very different and had their own challenges. But all in good condition. The hotel was great and we visited all the restaurants. Food was fabulous. No complains there. Staff were all very friendly. And couldn’t help enough. Definitely will come back !
The hotel is tired, barely worthy of its 4-star rating. The food is mediocre at best, and the two hotel restaurants are closed several days a week, apparently open mainly for weekends at this time of year. The three courses have interesting layouts, but they are in such bad condition that they were not enjoyable to play. Elevated greens mean that a player needs to be able to hit a high pitch shot with a sand wedge or lob wedge if you miss the green, but without grass under the ball, it is impossible to catch a good clean shot. I spoke to an 11-handicapper who said that he shot 115 on the America course because there was no grass. That kind of golf is not fun. I would never go there again, and I don't recommend it to anyone else. More: there were not enough plugs in the room, and there was no plug anywhere near where the coffee maker was located. The shower--badly designed--poured water out into the bathroom (but on the positive side, there was underfloor heating in the bathroom!) The outdoor balcony overlooking the canyon was nice and large, but the weather didn't allow us to use it when we were there. The "bed" was really two twin beds pushed together (and some days not even pushed together enough to close a two-inch gap), so for two people who like to sleep together in the middle of a bed, that was simply not possible. The only good thing about this place is the staff! They were wonderful, very accommodating and extremely helpful in helping us find places to go as well as helping us resolve issues (like when the hairdryer tripped a circuit and we lost power in the room).…
Fab resort with 3 well maintained courses. Tricky golf at times as very hilly but if u go with plenty of balls it’s a great social time. The best thing about the place was the staff, always smiling and helpful. Will be back soon 🙌
Just returned from a 5 night stay in La Cala including 3 rounds of golf. I’ve been on multiple trips to Spain and Portugal for golf holidays and this is the resort I’d recommend over any others visited. We played each of the 3 courses, which were tricky, but playable. Some of the views on course were spectacular and there are some very advantageous tee-boxes were massive drives can be hit. Slight preference would be for the America course, but really enjoyed Asia and Europa also. We visited the Par 3 course on our non-golfing day and it was in great condition with some fine short par 3’s. We had very little need to go offsite and all 3 restaurants were excellent and the Panoramic Bar was a great spot to either start or finish the evening. Breakfast was excellent also, with plenty of options to suit all. The rooms were extremely comfortable and the balcony very spacious with greats views across the Asia course. The staff were extremely professional and special mention to Carmen, who was a great help overall and was a welcome addition to our group photo on the final night. All in all, great hotel and golf courses and can’t wait to return!…
What an amazing place and setting for 3 unbelievable golf courses. From the moment you arrive at the resort you are treated like 5 star guests. Noting is too much trouble for any member of staff and the selection of restaurants and facilities on site are plentiful.. each golf course has its challenges but all are immaculate and in perfect condition. All 10 of us who stayed can’t wait to get back to la Cala again next year.
12 people went on our annual Lads and dads golf trip. This was the best by far over the past 7 years. Hotel and rooms were exceptional. Reception and all the staff were the best.Carmen needs a special mention on reception. The three golf courses which are directly attached to the hotel are very well kept, and are just a 5 minute walk from the reception. We aim to book there again fro 2023. It was that good. What a gem for a organised golf trip. Thank you for your hospitality.
3 great golf courses, great food on the terrace overlooking the course. Friendly helpful staff. I recommend a visit to Casa Roberto in Fuegerolla, with the world record golf clubs hanging from the ceiling. Food and staff are awesome, (Get the moules)
This is the third time we have been to La Cala and it is still a great venue for golf. Three very good courses all with stunning views and a good test for all levels of ability. Food this time I though was better at the club house rather than the hotel restaurant but was not impressed with the Tapas one. We had half board with the a la carte option which I would advise to go for.
First time staying at La Cala, loved it. Hotel accommodation, bedrooms etc were excellent as was breakfast. We were a group of 8 golfers, whose handicap ranged between 6 and 19 and we all enjoyed the 3 courses. Europa we found to be the most difficult and Asia the easiest. All 3 were in great condition! If the price hadn’t increased by a whopping 25% we would have returned next year!
11 of us travelled to la cala for 3 rounds of golf. Courses are all excellent with superb views on all 3. Staff all very helpful and friendly, only downside is food bit expensive and pro shop also. €21 for a starter and €99 for a la cala golf shirt. Would definately recommend going for the golf but best to eat out in local town 10mins away
