I stayed during my Camino trip and found the room very nice. Good heat, nice bathtub and strong Wifi. The breakfast was just so-so. The staff were not terribly friendly and the hallways as very dark. But otherwise is was a good location.

The reviews terrible, so expectations lower than low. Not as bad as the reviews made us understand, on the contrary. Of course after so many years an investment by the owners is badly needed. Only negative was the unfriendly desk reception by a lady thinking she was the Queen of Saba. During breakfast the service was excellent

The hotel Lara is renovated outside, but the spirit lives on. The man at reception was particularly friendly, but the rest of the staff hate their job. At breakfast the coffee and tea was difficult to get, the scrambled eggs very scrambled and dry. The question for fresh orange juice was seen as an extra effort although the oranges laid...

Hotel si located on the edge of the old fortress. The hotel rooms are ok, the beds were to hard to my opinion. The breakfast is simple. I have the feeling there is not a lot of staff running around. this shows mainly at breakfast were empty plates are not refilled and you have to look for the staff to...

The Hotel Lara was a property that I found very easy to like. Reception was friendly and helpful, my attractively renovated room was large, comfortable, clean and well-maintained, the heating was perfect, the breakfast was good, the WiFi was fast, and the location, minutes from the fascinating fortress, was ideal. The well-priced, good quality and generous pilgrim menu at the...

This hotel is located on the Camino trail just outside the walled city of Valenca. This is the most northern city in Portugal on the Camino Portugal. I stayed on the second floor in an updated room. The bed was a tempurpedic style and the towels were fluffy. The room had a bath tub. The staff was great and they...

This hotel was in a fantastic spot in Valença – just across the road from the walled town with lots of bars, restaurants and little shops with great views across the countryside. However unless you walked up to the Fortress area there wasn’t anywhere particularly attractive in the nearby streets. The hotel itself is spacious and the rooms similarly large...

Good location but noisy and old hotel. Clean but really worn and old beds - not a great sleep. Look for something better as there are options in Valencia. Or consider crossing into Spain and staying in Tui.

I stayed on 22nd June. Had a front room with balcony on 2nd floor. This floor has been redecorated, room was fresh and spacious. Some fittings were outdated but everything was clean & tidy. Front desk staff were most helpfull. Good location adjacent to the park & Fortaleza.

Positive: clean room and bath, fast wifi, Central location Negative: loud, we tried to get a room on the quieter backside, but was allegedly not available, although it did not seem very busy; the worst: terrible artificially flavored smell in all corridors, disgusting
