A note from Torel Palace Porto
Updated 06/05/20

#15 of 152 hotels in Porto
Travellers' Choice
This new project by Torel Boutiques is housed in one of the most stunning historic palaces in Porto, the Palacete Campos Navarro. The Palace, dating back to 1861, and typical of those of the bourgeoisie at the time, is one of the most impressive and distinguished examples of the romantic architecture period in Porto. A highlight is an exceptionally stunning skylight (“Claraboia”). The concept of Torel Palace Porto is to honor Portuguese writers and poets, among them Eça de Queiroz, Florbela Espanca and, of course, perhaps the best-known Portuguese writer, Fernando Pessoa.

We thoroughly enjoyed our very comfortable stay in the Torel Palace Porto. This small hotel felt so opulent with its stunning decor and architecture. Our room was on on the top floor and, after alighting from the lift, we were greeted with the view of a magnificent large skylight window with original architraving - just beautiful / breath-taking. Our room felt very opulent. The bed was comfy, the bathroom well equipped. We had a small balcony with a view down to the entrance to the restaurant. The hotel has it's own restaurant which caters for dinner as well as breakfast and lunch. Its called Blind. The atmosphere, sitting out by the small pool under the trailing plants, was excellent. The staff were charming. The breakfast buffet was very well stocked and the hotel was very Covid friendly. All in all, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would really recommend this hotel for a romantic, comfortable and conveniently located stay in lovely Porto. Just a footnote - The bathroom only had a shower (no bath) and the drainage was along the lines of a wet room, so apologies to the team of housekeepers for the mess we made of your towels keeping the water from the door :-)

Hotel's Favourite
This is definitely one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in my whole life. It doesn’t only look like a palace, the staff also makes you feel like a king. We had a problem with our car, and they were very helpful. The rooms are amazing and even though it is located in the middle of everything, inside it feels like on a castle on the countryside. Do not miss to go to the Blind restaurant in the hotel. It is a once in a lifetime experience.

The hotel is newly renovated to the highest standards and situated in an old palazzo directly in the city center. Having lived in numerous hotels around the world, I can confidently say that this place is truely outstanding. The staff ist extremely friendly. Would definitely stay again.

Very chique and beautiful hotel! Makes you feel like royalty when you walk the beautiful hallways to your room. It is also very quiet! We loved the breakfast buffet and the courtyard where we could sit down and eat. The pool is lovely to look at but smaller than you’d think and the fact that is is next to the tables where sometimes people have drinks or breakfast does not make it inviting to go for a swim. Location is excellent, would definitely stay again
