I'm very sorry to tell about may bad experience in this hotel we just had. We did the check out the morning of the 24th April 2017 after 2 nights spent there at around 10am. in the very early afternoon we arrived in an other hotel close to Porto where I realized that I forgot my little prada bag with...

Very cool stylish hotel in converted theatre. Nice rooms and very clean with good service. A little to 'cool' and dark in places and the bathtub inside a glass case we had in our room just felt a little over done!

I had no preconceptions about this hotel as the booking was made by a travel agent. It was in a great location - easy to walk to São Bento, the Cathedral etc. And, the staff were welcoming, pleasant and helpful. But, I found the 'theatrical theme' overwhelming! On arrival I stepped out of the lift onto a totally dark floor!...

If you use points as an SPG member be prepared for inferior service and poor treatment. When checking in, the very rude woman at the front desk informed me "you know you don't get breakfast because you're paying with points". This was before she said "welcome". I must say she walked away in the middle of our registration and the...

It was quite a surprise - could be described as a "concept hotel" with superb breakfast and the feeling that you were in a dark theatrical bubble ! Brilliant location but be prepared for very little natural light and the feeling you had been transported behind the scenes at a theatrical venue . Would stay there again but it is...

Under 2 blocks to the Sao Bento train station, which easily got us from Porto to Lisbon. Easily walkable to all the sites, within 10-15 minutes. Staff was helpful. Design was great in common areas - yes, dark but it's a very downtown, urban style. Room was also dark and the see-through wall to the bathroom forced my friend and...

Seen a reviews about the construction work going on in the street but it didn't bother us at all - we were on the second floor at the front. Rooms are comfortable enough and breakfast offered plenty of choice. It was the restaurant that surprised us most though. We were a bit disappointed to see only two main courses( unless...

Just spent three nights in Hotel Teatro. It's in a great location, close to Bolhao tube station on a direct line (line E) from the airport and within walking distance of Porto's many attractions. Staff were very friendly and a welcome glass of port is offered on arrival. Hotel is tastefully decorated on a theatrical theme and the breakfast area...

We stayed at the hotel for 3 nights for a long weekend in Porto. The hotel was fantastic - the staff could not have done more for us, the room was just perfect - comfortable and luxurious. The breakfast was plentiful and good quality. The bar cozy with good service. Excellent position within the town. Would definitely stay at this...

We recently stayed here for three nights and found it a good choice for visiting Porto. The staff was very helpful at all times and the room very pleasant. In Porto you are either high up and eventually have to walk down or the reverse. So no matter what, unless you don't intend to go anywhere, you will be walking....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Hotel Teatro arose from the spot where the Baquet Theatre was inaugurated in 1859. A hundred and fifty-one years later, the unique, refined and bohemian environment of the Theatre has been revived here in a hotel. The Reception represents a box office, where each guest receives a ticket to access their room. The Restaurant and Bar have become the new Palco and Plateia, offering creations for a discerning palate. The inner courtyard is a versatile garden or a quiet and secluded haven from the tumult of the city. The 74 comfortable rooms and suites are colored in gold and bronze, and the gym on the top floor transforms the Hotel into a true arena for action and relaxation. ... more   less
