I was not expecting a luxury place but the room and bathroom was dirty as f***. Rust and mold everywhere. When I entered I found dirty sheets, spiders 🕷 over the window room, smell of moustines that I couldn’t sleep at night. A real nightmare. At least the stag was helpful and welcoming to change the sheets but nothing else. A real horror.
I dont know why some people have a problem with this place. Staff are lovely, rooms are comfy and spacious. Good location for exploring porto, which is a truly wonderful city. This place is an absolute bargain!
It is not the most gorgeous place, but it has a bed. It is not sofisticated, but it has a shower and hot water. So if you are looking for a cheap place to crash, it could be a good place. Just don't expect much on it. The staff is nice and it is not too far away from the city center (15-20 minute walk)
Neither the day or night reception was very knowledgable. I asked one for a plug for the bath and he had no idea what one was. Eventually one was found but the water was yellow. He said this was normal and I emptied and tried again but the water was still yellow. He said he would call the manager and get back to me in a moment. Thirty minutes later I approached him and he asked what I wanted !! Neither could advise me that the night bus to the airport passes at the bottom of the road so I had to get a taxi costing 7 euros into the centre to get the same bus that pass 3 minutes away The extractor fan never went off during my visit of 3 nights. The bed was made once
I was a bit worried when I red feedback of the place, but when I got there I really couldn't understand why people.write stuffs like that. This place rules! The best price quality relation I could find, just 20min bu foot from the city centre, lovely, sociable and useful staff, room HUGE (we paid for a double, they gave us a triple without charging difference), clean, nice,with private bathroom (maybe the only problem was that it had no window and smelled bad), a small balcony, towels, hygienic paper, soaps etc..
