It will do, and they are very friendly. Clean and adequate, but dated. I can tell that they are renovating gradually. Breakfast OK, but they could do better than orange-flavored koolaid. Good location for train station and old town.
I stayed here for two nights. I walked from the train station to the hotel - about 20 minutes. The hotel is located across from the old quarter on a main street (inside my room I heard zero noise from the outside). Note, the hotel/building is currently being renovated on the outside so scaffolding is present, however this did not obstruct any of the views and I never heard any noise from the construction. Virtually every major site in town is within no more than a 15-20 minute walk, most places being much, much closer. There are dozens of charming cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance from the hotel (well under 5 minutes). My room was on the 5th floor. The views were amazing, especially at night when the city lights came on. Upon entering my large room I found two individual beds, writing desk and chair, sizeable built-in closet, flat panel TV, updated and spotless bathroom and an outdoor balcony with table and chairs. The staff (day and night front desk managers) was super friendly and most professional. Breakfast is included in the nightly rate (breads, meats, cheeses, hot and cold cereals, fruit, coffee/tea, juices and yogurt). I paid 29 and 33 euros/night and felt this was a very good value.…
First of all I must say that I will not give the lowest rating possible due to the staff politeness and the value of the hotel. Secondly I am going to share my unfortunate experience with this hotel, I wasn't expecting much from it since it was cheap and it was only a 1 star, yet I found used underwear in my room from past customers of the hotel and I found many places with a lot of dust, which is unacceptable. Clearly the problem of this hotel is the cleaning team, which needs to be replaced or properly disciplined to do their job…
We stayed in the hotel for one night only. The location (very near the historical center) was superb, the hotel is clean with great wifi (fifth floor). Receptionists speak english very well. The breakfast (included) was very basic, maybe rather poor. The bed was oldish and not very comfortable to sleep in (even noisy one can say). And the bells! Ringing every fifteen minutes (not the hotel's fault). But still, for the money spent quite a bargain. …
I upgraded to 5th floor for the "great view" and upon checkin hotel said this one of their best rooms. Hotel is on a very busy road. The only view are modern buildings not historical sites and the busy traffic. Huge disappointment as I was expecting charming. Room was very dated (not in a cute way), bed has hard spring mattress, and no wifi working in room. I had a balcony but too noisy with car traffic to use it. If you must stay here get a room not facing busy road. Left before 8 am breakfast so cant comment on that. Much preferred Braga over Guimares and LOVED, LOVED Bragatruthotel!!! (Several classes higher then this one and a bit cheaper even)…
