I had a very good experience in this hostel. Very kind staff, a calm and pleasure atmosphere, cool decoration and you can easily feel at home. Breakfast is okay, and the rooms are clean. The location is also good, you are in the center of Braga and near everything you need to visit or see.
We stayed at the Braga POP Hostel for 4 nights in both the double and the four person room. Helena and the rest of the staff are extremely helpful and have amazing suggestions for anything you want to do! The hostel really felt like a home for those few days; breakfast with homemade jams, always a lovely welcome when coming back to the hostel and since it was my birthday a cupcake with candle. Also the entire interior is very clean with bright pops of color and they have the most lovely cups, all handmade by Helena. This together with the colorful wall where visitors get to paint really gives the hostel an amazing atmosphere.
Been there for three nights. Apart from Braga and Viana Do Castello (accessible for a one day trip from here) being my favorite of the 7 cities of Portugal I visited, this hostel specifically has a special atmosphere that made me feel at home. Pedro and Helena know how to do their job, they are more than willing to help and more than familiar with the area. Clean. Also enjoyed all the people with whom I shared the room.
After sleeping in a tent on some noisy campsites, this hostel felt like coming home in a way. Being among like-minded people, enjoying a layed back evening on the big terrace with a nice view over the city and finally finding sleep at night again... all this was the best that could happen to us. The place is full of heart, great music and love for details. We enjoyed the homemade yoghurt (like moms used to prepare) for breakfast. Big thanks again to the great staff, they were more than helpful. We can highly recommend the place to open minded travellers.
When I was on holidays with my girlfriend, we ended up in Braga. Unable to find a chouchsurfer to host us, the POP hostel was our crashsite of choice. We haven't regretted going there for a second. The people running the place are really friendly and helpful, and familiar with the surroundings. They don't feel they work in the hostel, they run it because they like hosting people and talking about all kinds of things, basically having a good time. The rooms, showers and common areas are nice, and reasonably priced. Homemade breakfast was included as well! All in all a really good place to stay.
