I was warned of the works going on next door prior to departure but hey this hotel is not responsible for that. My wife and I spent most days around the pool and I did not find it cramped. I got used to the noise...More
Just arrived back from Tui Sensimar Savoy Gardens Funchal Maderia.
A lovely Island well worth the visit !
Sadly our recommended Sensimar group holiday was disappointing due to the fact as a young 55 year old I felt it was an OAP resort.
We stayed for 11 nigjts.
The hotel is at the top of a steep hill .it is a very clean and comfortable hotel . The rooms were spacious, kept very clean but sea facing rooms had very small balcony's .The food quality was very good...More
Spent 10 days there from 8th September. TIU staff there are first class. Food and all restaurant staff are the tops. Two unsatisfactory issues 1) We should have been allocated a "mountain view" but ended up on the side of the hotel overlooking the building...More

As the work being carried out is next door to the pool area there is no avoiding the noise as they were digging out the foundations. It's a personal choice: those of us who chose to stay were not overly bothered and to be honest it became 'background noise' and didn't disturb us too much. But the fact you can go to the 5* sister hotel means you have a choice whether to stay or not. We did look at alternative hotels before we left but they didn't seem to match what was on offer at the Savoy Gardens and we were happy it was the right decision for us. Enjoy your break whatever you decide.
