Fabulous hotel, I had rang to request a high floor room and they gave us one and WOW when we saw the view from the balcony it was amazing. We would leave the balcony door open at night and you could hear the waves. The hotel is spot on with Covid, spotlessly clean hand gels all around masks are worn around the hotel, plastic gloves and utensils provided for selecting food from the breakfast buffet. The breakfast were excellent, plenty of choice from fruits, cereals continental and hot food and not forgetting those gorgeous little cakes. Never had a problem with getting a sun bed and yes the pool is not huge but adequate. Madeira was not a holiday resort I would normally have chosen but due to it being on the green list and also not having to have a test to enter and not having to pay for your exit test we chose it and so glad we did, so much so we are coming back in November as we had such an amazing holiday.

I loved my stay at this hotel. The sea view from my room was breathtaking. The staff were super friendly and helpful and really contributed to making this an amazing holiday. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They even opened the gym area earlier for us. I also loved the little touches like fresh fruit and water in the reception area daily. The pastries at breakfast were to die for, still thinking about them to date.

Absolutely amazing hotel, from the friendly staff to the perfect location, we couldn’t have asked for anything more. I’m pretty sure that all rooms have a sea view, ours was absolutely stunning. We could see the sunrise every morning, and the moon on the water at night. Really spacious balcony and room. We paid for a deluxe room and it was well worth it! Lots of space, and comfy seating area, extremely comfy beds and bedding! Adequate kettle and coffee and tea facilities. All staff were so friendly, reception staff were extremely helpful and kind, cleaning staff were really lovely too. We read comments about the size of the pool being “too small”, however we thought it was completely adequate, especially having the indoor pool with views of the sea even from inside. There were also plenty of sun beds available, again we read other reviews stating the lack of sun beds- we didn’t find this an issue at all. Breakfast was great, had everything you could want. The only thing I would say is that if you book b&b, just be mindful that evening meals are quite expensive to pay for if you choose to eat in the hotel for a night. 29 euros per person which I would say is a bit excessive knowing how cheap all the great restaurants in Funchal are! But other than that, absolutely no complaints whatsoever. The most stunning location. Also if you are worried about covid testing, don’t be. Pharmacies in Funchal offer testing for before you leave, mine only cost 15 euros and my mum’s was free. So don’t bother buying one to take with you as you will be wasting money!

We have just returned from 10 nights at this wonderful hotel. We booked through BA Holidays. Everything was perfect. Lovely room with balcony overlooking the sea. Nice comfortable bed and nice bathroom with shower and bath. Air conditioning. Spotlessly clean. Room cleaned daily. Clean towels as often as requested. Also were given cards to obtain beach/ pool towels daily. Great buffet breakfast plenty of choice, constantly topped up. Breakfast eaten while we were there on veranda with gorgeous views. Gloves worn by guests when selecting food from buffer. Individual serving equipment. Masks worn when walking around hotel all areas. Small but perfectly adequate plunge pool. Sun lingers around pool and parasols. Bar area serving drinks and snacks by pool. All staff very polite friendly and helpful. Great position well served by buses and some local shops including a small supermarket to get water etc. Some local restaurants and plenty more in walking distance. I cannot think of one thing to complain about. Thank you for such a fantastic stay. We will definitely return.

Had a lovely 2 weeks at this top class establishment. Reception colleagues are all extremely pleasant polite and willing to help. Rooms are large, lots of storage for your luggage. Bathroom light airy and modern with a great power shower. Great balcony with amazing sea views. Breakfast had a fantastic choice, buffet style with excellent service from colleagues waiting on. Outdoor pool is very small, though great for cooling down. Indoor pool, sauna and small gym all good. Didn’t eat of an evening though decent discounted packages available. Lots of places to eat out at reasonable prices. Courtesy bus of a morning into Funchal, needs booking at reception. Good 40 minute walk to the harbour and city centre. It is very hilly around this area, public transport and taxi rank a 2 minute walk away both very reasonably priced and plentiful. Close to promenade which is a lovely walk in both directions. Forum shopping centre just a 2 minute stroll, lots of choice in there, fast food, fashion, chemist, supermarket etc. All in all a great place to stay, amazing personal service compared to larger chain hotels. Also adults only. Would love to return. Thank You all at Regency Cliff for a memorable 2 weeks. Saint
