Great location to explore the surrounding areas with many restaurants to visit. However the food is such a shame, breakfast is okay but lunchtime and the evening buffet has a lot to be desired. The food at lunchtime and in the evening is only Luke warm. This needs to be reviewed by the management. Simple processes can be introduced. Like at breakfast time there is no need to cook 20 to 30 fried eggs and just leave them to stand. Its the same at lunchtime when vasts amount of burgers and sausages are just cooked and left to sit waited for people to eat them.Just cook the ingredients when guests require them. The staff work hard and tired-less and cannot be praised enough. In the whole the amenities and hotel are fair, but not not five star. we have tried to be honest with our reviews to give other guests an honest opinion of our holiday.Sadly we will not be returning to this hotel, but will definitely be returning to Madeira. This hotel as so much potential but certain aspects require an over view.

Where do I start! We read reviews before we came out and was really worried it wasn’t a nice hotel. How wrong could we be!!! This hotel is amazing, the staff can’t do enough for you, the room was fantastic and the food, well let’s just say it’s on tap 24/7 and the variety is brilliant. This has got to be the best hotel and holiday we’ve had. There isn’t anything I could fault the hotel on. We had 2 king size beds in our room a massive walk in shower and views that were breathtaking!!! We are in (don’t leave until tomorrow!) Room 983. Beautiful room. The infinity pool is really nice. The animation team work really hard and the man (we have nicknamed him Borat as he looks just like the character) well let’s just say he must be on blue smarties he just doesn’t stop!!!!! Everyone is just soo friendly here. We’ve never had a problem getting sunbeds. I’m sat on mine now and it’s 9:45am and there is still loads left. We wouldn’t hesitate to come back to this beautiful hotel and island. It has been our best holiday ever!!! Thank you Enotel Lido for making us feel so welcome and looking after us so well. Room Tip: If you want a kettle in your room just ask. They don’t put them in but they will gladly put one...

Fabulous hotel in a great location. Staff are brilliant and very helpful with any queries…..especially around documentation for returning to the Uk. Spotlessly clean throughout and despite what some say, we thought the food was really really good…..plenty of choice for all palates. Yeah, the pool area can get crowded but there are notices everywhere about not reserving sun beds with towels but the great British public choose to ignore this so it’s your fellow holiday makers at fault not the hotel staff. There’s a beautiful Lido a 5 min walk from the hotel where sunbathing facilities are available very reasonably. Madeira is a bit of a hidden gem for us…..plenty to do and see, friendly locals and great bars and restaurants. We’d definitely like to return and would absolutely book the Enotel Lido again.

Hotel is never a 5* hotel but still a very good hotel with good and not so good things so gona be say what I thought was good and what was not so good So let’s start with good :-) Check in was easy Rooms where big and clean Beds where comfy Bathroom was good standard with bath and separate shower cubicle Food was good plenty choice and always found something to eat although I will say the temperature of the food could be better Drink was really good all branded labels like smirnoff havana Bacardi and the beer was the local beer called coral which was a decent beer imo Sports bar which actually shows live sports Snooker table Ping pong table Plenty sun loungers and we never went down early Staff have been great Free massage which was great and no pressure to get other treatments at all Free water bottle which u can top up around the hotel Fridge with free cans of fizzy drinks replaced whenever u drank them Not your typical 2 drinks per person was in play as usual for an AI hotel which was a pleasant surprise although the spirit measures 😳 we had to ask for what we called baby measures 😂😂 Not so good :-( Pillows in room to soft so we used the cushions as were firmer and the maid noticed this and put pillow cases on them which was nice touch Lifts in hotel are probably the worse thing bout this hotel not enough and slow as hell Pool it’s self is an infinity pool looks good but way to small for size of hotel and no where deep enough imo bout a meter deep Entertainment not great Another thing that was very poor imo was the tables outside for eating and drinking as they were very slippery and beveled as number of folk spilled their drinks as it caught them of guard including myself 🤦🏼‍♂️ Although beer is good the size of the glass is so irritating even 2 glasses was bout just over half pint which I have never understood why some AI hotels do but hey I still managed to drink plenty of it 😂 Service for drinks is a bit slow around pool but some of that due to covid restrictions There’s about 12 pigeons that hang around to be fed which never really bothered me but they could go on tables to steal food but that’s hard to stop I suppose I would recommend not to get rooms on 2 floor as it’s same level of restaurant and if u got a room that looks right onto it it can be annoying if u like to sit out in morning and there is folk eating their breakfast bout 10 feet away from you lol had room 261 All n all had a good week at this hotel would I come back? Probably not as probably would not come back to Funchal unless get great deal lol

This is a lovely hotel. Spotlessly clean and recently refurbished to a good standard. Rooms are comfortable and a decent size. Equipped with hairdryer, shaver plugs and USB sockets. No problem with the sun beds (and there were 6 of us) went down about 8am on way to breakfast, but maybe that was because we visited in September. Most of the staff were very friendly. Big shout out to Marina on reception. She was absolutely amazing. Very helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. She arranged for us to keep our room a bit later on checkout day and was very knowledgeable about what to see and visit on the island. The daytime crew worked very hard to keep guests entertained and involved with games and crafts etc, bringing a smile to everyone’s face, the Enotel jingle was very catchy 😁 The only downside to this hotel was the evening entertainment which was very poor and the buffet food being cold although there was always plenty of choice and we were never stuck for something to eat at any mealtime. Also plenty of snacks available throughout the day and night. Worth a visit to the traditional Madeira restaurant on the 1st floor, food here was delicious and waiter service. All in all a lovely holiday in a beautiful country.
