Just come back from a lovely week in this hotel. It is just as described, small and friendly and in an ideal location halfway between Funchal main town and the flatter area of the Lido. There is however a short steep hill back to the hotel from the lido area, but as Madeira is so hilly anyway it is probably...

Friendly staff and clean rooms - food limited as basically a Bed and Breakfast Hotel - with sundry other foods - poor Wifi and Poor tv. so not suited to the electronic brigade. Situated on a hill/ Slope (watch the pavement outside it looks 'on a slope' but it has two dips which through you off kilter! - just another...

This hotel enjoys the benefit of being located approx.half way between Funchal marina and the Lido. It stand on a road junction so does have some traffic noise. I found the cleanliness of the property to be very good but some paintwork and fabric furnishing would benefit from a little attention. All the staff I encountered were helpful, friendly and efficient....

Nice little hotel, very friendly. Got all you need and well located for walking downhill into old town (30 pottering minutes) and the bus back or long slog. Buses Euro 1.95 and worth it. Red Siteseeing bus excellent for the Gold cover - two days all routes hop on and hop off bus stop opposite hotel. We had a room...

Very good location within walkable distance to city center, decent breakfast and the most helpful staff we ever met. They would help you with everything: bus schedules, map navigation, and even cameras to spot the rain. Remain really impressed and recommend those searching for value for money!

What a lovely little find. Having read the trip advisor reviews before booking we were well prepared for a shabby/chic holiday. That is absolutely what it is. This charming hotel has all the potential to be a fabulous "boutique" hotel with a large cash injection. Enjoy it now before it costs a fortune to stay there! The staff could not...

a week's holiday with the 'we do that ' people led us to this b +b with snacks and a nice terrace over looking the western road approaches to Funchal. we had an upper modern extension(1970s) room but the traffic noise was too much for us rurals so we moved to the back for the quiet but still had views...

We were disappointed as the travel agent, from looking at the details, said it would be quiet. Whilst the hotel and staff were fine, the problem is that it is some 40 yards from a dual carriageway junction. Noisy motorcycles and other vehicular noise meant that we needed ear plugs, although the road was quiet at about 3.15am. Other people...

Stayed in a first floor room in the original building of this member of the "Charming Hotels" group. Furnishings old fashioned but charming and spotless. Views over the bay and to the mountains excellent. This was a B&B booking, B was fine, other B was disappointing. Fruit and yogurt fine, cold meats and cheese acceptable, just. Coffee vile. Saw it...
