This hotel is quite simply fantastic

Can’t fault anything . The breakfast was amazing and they put on things to keep the guests entertained for example a coach tour of the Christmas lights and football on the television in the Navigator lounge . All of the staff are fantastic and a special thanks to Louisa in guest relations who helped me . Anyone staying here will 100% love it . I will definitely be back

A great experience

This was our first visit to the island and we celebrated our 30th anniversary here last week. We couldn't have wished for a better hotel! The standard in everything, from toiletries to cleanliness and furniture, is very high. The staff is helpful, always easily approachable, and clearly well-trained and experienced. We will definitely return to Madeira, and then we will likely want to stay at the Cliff Bay again. They use their 5 stars with confidence and pride. It is very good value if you are looking for top quality.

Beyond fantastic!

I couldn’t speak highly enough of this Hotel! We celebrated two birthdays and Portobay went OUT OF THEIR WAY to make it so very special! Would definitely stay again! Thank you so very much! Stunning views, comfortable rooms, excellent courteous service and staff, breakfast was lovely and varied, shuttle bus service provided for touristy sites, and a dreamy spa! I could keep going, but I’m gonna finish off by saying how lovely the staff were once again!

Displeased wit the room

We through we had booked a rom with twin side sea view however limitet view due to at 1.20 m. wall at the balcony. The picture at the homepage showed the rum with the wall but i did not seem to restrict the view sitting on the balcony Our room No: 422. We were rather disapointet to experience that the wall in our room was about 1.40 m. Sitting att the balcony totally restricted any view of the land or sea. We only saw the wall and a palm top i the sky. We asked in the reception if it was right and got the answer that we got we have booked. We felt that we had been cheated from a part of the experience we came fore Displeased we did not fully enjoy the week at the hotel.

Amazing

Been in a lot of very nice hotels in Europe but this one is the best ever . The staff can not do enough for you . The hotel is spotless and in a good location. Got upgraded to a superior sea view room and the view was amazing. The room was warm well furnished had free safe and Wi-fi mini bar and everything you could possibly need . Fantastic bathroom and balcony pillow menu turn down service excellent. Breakfast room was excellent good service plenty of choice and fantastic food only let down was bacon was too crispy . Apart from that amazing room overlooking the sea. Made you feel very welcome. The outside areas are good and the bars were excellent. If we ever come back to Madeira will definitely stay here again . 5 star service and hotel . Absolutely amazing.

It looks like the guests of The Cliff Bay hotel can use the facilities and the restaurant of the Les Suites. Is this correct? Does not it create overcrowding in Les Suites' facilities and also inconvenience to the Les Suites guests? Do Les Suites guests have any preference over The Cliff Bay guests for Avista's reservations?

Does anyone have a list of the different themes each night in the Rose Garden please. We are booked on Prestige Package which includes three different restaurants including Rose Garden. As we need to pre book the other two just trying to decide which night to go to RG. Thanks

Dear sirs, On half board means you are entitled for the food component of your meal. drinks are not included... prices depends on your choice...

My wife would love to attend a daily yoga class. Are these available? If so, are they complimentary?

Hi, I am booking a week for next October. I love the look of the bay-view rooms but not sure if my budget will stretch to that. If I book a cheaper room and upgrade on arrival will that work out more expensive?

Due to our high occupancy we are unable to guarantee any specific room numbers/floors or any free room upgrades. Free room upgrades are only given when the room category reserved by our guests, due to several circumstances are no longer available for their stay.
