    We always stay at different places but so loved this hotel, with it’s beautiful old fashioned gardens, grounds and buildings with excellent service, room, food, pools, etc; not your usual ‘box’ hotel. We haven’t said this for years - but we will be returning.

    Hello can you tell me if the work being carried out on the pool at the sea front will be completed by the end of May, as we have booked a sea view room ?
    We've just returned yesterday. The building work is still going on, although not a lot of noise or disruption and the outside is more or less complete. In my view, it will not be finished by May, but I could be wrong.

    is the building work near the sea view rooms noisy
    well.... they were rebuilding the seafront pool when I was there in November and the Ronaldiho residence is still being built right behind, and the massive Savoy complex is ongoing so there is some noise, but it did'nt affect me and I'm a light sleeper

    What are typical food and drink prices at this hotel? How active is the Scuba diving centre? do Madeira divepoint SCUBA boats pick up from this hotels jetty? Thanks Tony
    Drinks prices seemed reasonable & not over priced we thought. Not sure about food prices as had inclusive breakfast & Dinner. Saw fair amount of activity regarding scuba divers & a boat was picking them up.

    Is there an iron/ironing board available to use in the room?
    Yes ! Front desk is very helpful if you don't find it in the room and will provide.
