This is a lovely old family manor house with a beautiful garden estate. It is tucked in a hill, extremely quiet and away from all the hectic touristy activity, yet only a short walk from town. The morning mist is magical. You will feel like you are back in time in an aristocratic country home. Breakfast is divine, and the...

It's a lovely place indeed. True - it's a little bit dated, but that only adds some old-fashioned charm. The furniture was like that my grandmother had once... what a feeling! All other good things said about it are also true. The property is 10 min walk away from the center, though.

I can't say enough great things about this charming gem of a hotel. The gardens are lovely, the scenic location away from the tourist areas personifies the magic of Sintra. If you are looking for complete luxury in accommodations this is not the place, but what you will find is infinitely better. The staff is wonderful and the owner is...

Excellent value, a little dated, lovely setting in the hills away from the tourist rush. I received a nice welcome and witnessed the owner speak excellent English and French. I suspect the staff would also speak good Spanish. This was very much the off-season, and it was raining a lot (welcome to Portugal in February!), so no chance to use...

Stayed here while visiting Sintra after lecturing in Lisbon. Was recommended by a local after explaining that I just did not want the standard antiseptic hotel. This place was magical - really fit my need for a hidden , out if the way, non- chain hotel that was filled with character and setting. Rooms were large, baths with garden-view French...

We spent 2 nights here in Oct 2013. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. Couldn't better this place for value. Maybe a bit tatty around the edges, but that is part of the charm making it feel like a 'hill station' residence of 100 years ago.

This hotel is very charming and we did check the room before we checked in. There was an overpowering room freshening smell that was overwhelming. There was no AC, so windows were open, but had no screens so the room had several flies. During the day the room looked nice, at night the lighting was poor. The TV only got...

We stayed 3 nights at Hotel Sinitra Jardim and were thrilled we had found such a characterful place to stay after 4 nights at the Ibis in Lisbon (due to unexpected circumstances!). I loved the area - it is very green and verdant and reminded me of the Isle of Wight landslip, and the house was an oasis of charm...

On our journey through Portugal we stayed for two nights here. The welcome was friendly and very professional - not so hearty and authentic as we experienced it later. We got some advice where we can have dinner and got a little information about the surrounding area. The house itself looks a little neglected from the outside. The inside is...

the first impression of the hotel is somewhat old fashionned: old furniture, faded colours, no airco... but it has a lot of charm and the garden with its very very long (25m) swimming pool is great. the rooms were cool enough (it was very hot outside) so we did not miss the airco. the ladynat the reception was very helpful....
