We booked this hotel not knowing much about it from the U.S. we are staying 19 days and it is a wonderful hotel. The people are very nice and professional. The room is very basic like we were looking for and very clean. The breakfast has a great variety of breads and fruit with eggs and sausages. The coffee is very good with a wide variety. I would recommend this to anyone that doesn’t need a fancy place to stay with great service and clean rooms. Thank you Hotel Litau for a great stay.
We stayed here with our young daughter for 7 nights. The staff are welcoming and friendly. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Extra precautions are being taken due to the coronavirus and it feels very safe. The breakfasts are really great and the staff really look after you. The hotel location is a short walk from the city centre. You have good access to the bars, restaurants and beaches. I would definitely recommend this hotel especially to families visiting for a holiday.
Stayed at the Hotel Laitau while travelling through Portugal and visiting Setual. Very clean and tidy, very friendly and helpful staff and good location for exploring Setubal. The hotel is centrally located, has parking, is dog friendly and serves a good breakfast. Great for a city break..........
Laitau is a newish purpose built, no-frills reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of the town centre with its restaurants and market. Clean, nicely appointed rooms with recently refurbed bathrooms. Good buffet breakfasts including hot dishes. Sadly it has an industrial coffee machine that pumps out undrinkable slop, even more baffling in a country with ubiquitous excellent coffee rather lets the side down but this seems to be standard for these types of hotels. Friendly, helpful staff. The place delivers what it sets out to offer. Parking on the forecourt can be tight.
I spent 2 nights in a hotel. Its a well located familiar hotel, My room was clean and comfortable. The location of the hotel is very good, walking distance from the old part of the city. The staff was extremly helpful. I was alone, but i saw happy kids and dogs there. So its good for a family vacation .
Hotel Laitau is about 12 minutes straight down the road from the city centre. It has excellent receptionists - very helpful. There is a generous reception area and a reasonably sized breakfast room. NOT all rooms are non-smoking. There is a NON-SMOKING floor. The rooms are very clean, sparsely furnished, but everything is there. The breakfast on our first day was quite handsome (1st January). The following day, less so (no REAL coffee, just cevada -YUK - for shame!!.Very little cheese - cheese is a staple here!!) Budget hotel, budget quality, but carefully administered. (the Visa machine wasn't working, so I had to pay the bill in cash ...)
All in all an average hotel for the rooms and breakfast. Nice situation close to city center. Friendly and helpful reception. Rooms were not the most luxurious, but bathroom was ok. Breakfast did stay in my memory although it was plentiful.
Hotel a bit antiquated but nice and spacious. The breakfast was very basic, in fact I didn't eat anything other than toast. It's typical 70s/80s décor and in this respect very Portuguese but for a provincial hotel it did the job. Very handy for the train station and football ground but about a mile from the beach.
We stayed here for one night in Aug 2014. The rooms were very clean (we had three rooms between us) the staff were helpful and it was quiet. The breakfast was ok, not amazing but considering the price of the accommodation, overall it was great value. It's a 15 min drive from here to the beautiful beach in the national park and a 15 walk to a street of really good restaurants. I would recommend staying at this hotel.
This hotel is in a nice location, its about a mile walk to the ferry which takes you over to beautiful beaches of Troa (currently building a huge casino complex over there and only takes 10 minutes to get across). The rooms are basic. Old furniture, but it does the job. The area is not great for tourists but they are starting to speak english. Has a small bar but no pool. Cleaning staff are friendly and rooms/hotel are clean. Has a balcony with nice views over the town. Overall I would go back to setubal.
