Our tour company booked us for one night at the Casa D'Obidos and it was my wife's first time ever sleeping in a real castle (I had stayed in two alone on business trips). That makes it a unique experience. The service level at the Casa was fabulous and our room was large and very nice (including a large rock that the castle was built around). Breakfast was excellent, but it is up in a tower so there are many, many steps to climb. Actually, the whole area where the hotel/castle is built is hilly. If that's not a problem, great, but if you have any problems climbing hills or going up and down lots and lots of steps, stay somewhere else. Our only complaint was the king bed was a fake as it was two twins pushed together, with the resultant crack down the middle, which was quite noticeable while sleeping. Also, the pillows, like all other European pillows it seems, were too soft. If not for the bed, I would have given the Casa an excellent rating.…
We opted to stay outside the walls of Obidos as we were travelling by car. The B&B was very nice though our room was a bit small. It was comfortable though. (ROOM 5). The breakfast was good and you could order hot breakfast if you wanted to. The grounds were lovely as was the pool.
My husband and I stayed here for one night during our honeymoon. We had a great time! It’s definitely a cute historic place to stay with a bed and breakfast vibe versus a modern hotel which we liked, and the breakfast felt like you were sitting at someone’s dinner table. It was a short drive from here to the center of Obidos. Thank you!
Great spot to come back end of day. Short walk to town. Great little bar a couple of minutes walk and a couple of local restaurants we did not have time to try. Breakfast was excellent, staff great from check in to check out.
I didn't want to leave this lovely place. We opted for the apartment with an outdoor patio, looking out on the walled city of Obidos. You are on a wonderful country estate, surrounded by pear orchards and wildflowers and birds. The apartment was so cozy and comfortable with a nice sitting area, kitchen, one bed, and then another bed up a small stairway, which was just perfect for someone looking to escape a snoring husband. It was so nice to open the windows and hear all the birds. The gentleman who showed us around was very nice to talk to, and very helpful-he even allowed us to use their washing machine. You can walk 5 minutes to restaurants in a little town, but it was so nice right there, that we bought simple food from the grocery store and stayed in. There are 2 good, large grocery stores in town. They have a nice pool, it was a little cool, but also refreshing on a hot day. There is a communal breakfast served in the dining room in the main house. It was very good, with a good assortment of food. They will make you eggs also. I really loved this place-wish I were there right now.…
