Everything about Santiago de Alfama was excellent. From the warm arrival to the help and advice with restaurants, beautiful room, excellent food and wonderful service we couldn’t have asked for better. Hotel itself is beautifully designed - fab art, lovely spaces, people watching restaurant, lovely food in a great neighbourhood.
One of the most beautiful places I've ever been. The staff is extremely friendly and smiling, the rooms have a splendid view, the design of the rooms is in a welcoming and vintage style, but also modern. Breakfast at the hotel restaurant is the best in Lisbon! The entire location is clean and complies with all safety precautions. The hotel is located in the historic center, very close to all sights.
Loved this hotel in a perfect location in Alfama, the historical district of Lisbon. Staff very helpful and always ensured guests could get a table outside at the popular Audrey's restaurant which is a super spot to eat and drink. We booked a classic room which was lovely but as you would expect not very spacious so if you are staying a few days you might want to upgrade for a bit more space. hard to fault.
The location is great, the rooms are very comfortable and the food in the hotel restaurant is exceptional. But what's make this hotel so special is the staff who went above and beyond to insure that i am fully satisfied .Thank you Katarina .
I stayed here three nights in March 2019, and my wife I and I spent the night of 10th May 2022 here. Staff are very friendly, we had a great room, and the location is unbeatable. We had a room on the second floor with a peek-a-boo view of the water. Had drinks at the bar with friends in the early evening before walking to our Michelin Two Star dinner at Belcanto. Had to depart at 2:30a to get to LIS to catch our 0500 flight, so not much time to enjoy the hotel.
I was on my honeymoon in Portugal - staying in Lisbon for a couple nights in the beginning, then to Porto, then back to Lisbon. I booked Santiago de Alfama for the first two nights, thinking I'd check out different neighborhoods and decide on where to book for our final week in Lisbon. The moment I arrived, I knew it was perfect. The hotel is beautiful, the food is wonderful, and everyone who works there is so kind and helpful. I really cannot recommend this more highly, it was such a pleasure to be there.
I was so, so happy that I chose the Santiago de Alfama on my Lisbon visit. The hotel is gorgeous, incorporating the early architecture especially in the entrance. My room on the 4th floor overlooking the river was beautiful and comfortable with a very large bathroom and shower. The staff is excellent. They all went above and beyond to fulfill any request or offer any assistance. The restaurant has a cozy interior and a lovely patio. Food is very good with lots of choices for breakfast. The bar is lovely too for an evening cocktail. The location below the Castle can't be beat. Easy access to all of Lisbon. I'll be back in Lisbon next year and will certainly rebook at this gem.
This boutique hotel near the Castelo de S. Jorge is simply paradise. We stayed for 4 nights in a junior suite, which was full of old world charm. The bathroom was huge and had two sinks, plus a separate room for the toilet. It's such a quaint and charming property. If there's one negative here is that the water temperature of the shower fluctuated quite a bit from other guests using water, but it's an old building and we learned to anticipate it. The staff couldn't be friendlier. We were greeted by the friendly receptionist the moment we arrived. As a small hotel, she also brought our luggage to the room. We saw our housekeeping lady several times during our stay and each time she greeted us with a smile (the room was serviced twice a day). We had breakfast daily and by the second day, the staff knew us by name and stopped by to chat when not busy. We also had a dinner at the restaurant (indoor and outdoor seating available). The service each time was attentive and prompt. One day we were in a rush because of a tour and the staff was quick to bring us our food. Everyone working here was friendly, easygoing, accommodating and treated us like family. The location can't be beat if you want to stay in this old part of the city. The tram station is right outside, although we didn't take it and simply walked everywhere. Walking in this neighborhood was like being transported to a different era and a different world. There are several restaurants nearby, both family run places and Michelin-mentioned fine dining establishments. Pastelaria Santo Antonio is less than 5 minutes away (walking) serving some of the best pastel de nata in town. It's only a 10-15 walk to Baixa, and perhaps a 20-25 min walk to Chiado. Because the hotel is on a hill, there's a climb (either by road or by stairs) when returning from Baixa, but look for elevators nearby if you don't want to hike back up (check google map). We'll stay here again without hesitation.…
I cannot believe that on our first trip to Lisbon we lucked into such a wonderful hotel! It's bright, peaceful, charming, beautifully appointed and right in the middle of so much action. We loved the staff, our room, the food, the service. Truly there isn't one thing about the place that didn't delight us entirely. Thank you for such a sweet introduction to your stunning city!!
The hotel is very comfortably located, in a small quiet street, but very close to a main road with taxis and the famous tram 28, so very easy access! Right next to a gorgeous Miraduro, and few minutes walk from the beautiful castle, and the best Pasteis the nata! The hotel is very beautiful, the room has a door to little cortyard, which is nice! And breakfast was outstanding! But the best part is the attentive, gentle and warm staff!! It was a pleasure to stay at the Santiago de Alfama-highly recommended!
