Recommended by a friend , we stayed at Browns central for a long weekend. It was absolutely perfect for access to restaurants, shops, bars, trams, the riverfront. We opted for small doubles as 2 friends we enjoy our own space. The rooms faced the street , which although had a small amount of noise in the evening, nothing too loud. The windows opened which is a change. The rooms were well equipped with coffee makers, kettle, fridge, radio, Bluetooth speaker and extremely comfortable beds. Our rooms were spotlessly clean. We arrived early and expected to have to store our bags , but we’re pleasantly surprised when the friendly reception said we could check in. There is a nice relaxed boutique vibe to the hotel, we visited the bar after our day sightseeing and the staff were lovely - they made excellent cocktails We didn’t eat at the hotel as our time was short. The guys on front desk were always helpful and extremely courteous Overall a great place to stay , would definitely stay again and recommend to others…
Great. Possibly smallish room, and poor shower fittings. Brilliant staff - very helpful and knowledgeable, superb location, nice rooms, great sound systems in the room to get the Roots Manuva pumpin'. Orientated around city breaks. Dark corridors, very dark corridors. Brilliant two-doored lift - freaks you right out. Sexy books in the bar. Old sexy, not smutty new stuff.
What a wonderful place this is. And what a great bargain. I love Design Hotels and this is truly one of them. My room at the top of the hotel was not just charming. It was sparkling clean and comfortable. The location is unbeatable if your goal is to be able to walk everywhere in Central Lisbon. The staff were very helpful and intuitive. I would love to return here.
We stayed at Browns with another couple, both celebrating our 50th’s and wanted something classy with style - and we certainly found it! The location was fantastic, right in the heart of thing, but on a cross street, so it still felt quiet outside sipping a beer and a custard tart. The staff were great, friendly and really helpful with both specific restaurant recommendations and more generally, areas of the city to head to find decent local food. The rooms had everything and looked fantastic. And the bar does amazing cocktails! We’d definitely stay here again and recommend it to others
I booked this hotel over 6 months before we stayed in Lisbon. The hotel were very quick to reply to emails and answer questions. On arrival we couldn’t believe how lovely the communal areas and bedroom were. It’s such a fantastic central location and we walked everywhere from here. The best nata shop is two mins walk away! The food and drinks are very reasonably priced and you get a discount for staying in the hotel. All staff are very friendly and the staff in reception were brilliant at recommending places to eat and things to do in the city. We had a balcony room at the side of the hotel and heard no noise any of the 3 nights- noise from outside or doors banging etc inside the hotel. I would highly recommend!
We stayed here for four nights in a first floor Junior Suite room which was spacious and well=equipped, however the experience was spoiled by the constant noise coming from the street below. Our room directly overlooked the pedestrianised Rua da Assuncao, directly opposite a bar which had (very poor!) live music playing until at least 11:30pm every night of our stay. As if having to endure the works of Ed Sheeran, Adele and Sam Smith being tortured wasn't enough, the sound of tables being stacked and bins being emptied continued well beyond midnight. I doubt we'd stay here again as it was simply impossible to get a good night's sleep but if we did, I would opt for a high floor room on the Rua dos Sapateiros side of the hotel. On the plus side, the reception and bar staff were all lovely - friendly and helpful, although the breakfast staff could learn to smile a bit more. The breakfast offering was mediocre - all self-service with a limited range of food and a hot drinks machine that produced barely drinkable, lukewarm coffee. After the first morning, we gave up on the hot drinks and headed round the corner to Starbucks straight after breakfast. I'm not prone to leaving less than complimentary TA reviews but on this occasion I'm afraid we were disappointed with our stay at this hotel. The location is excellent for all the city has to offer, most within walking distance, but the price to pay for this was a level of noise that we found intolerable. This may not be a problem for others who don't mind being in the thick of the city centre hubbub but if you value the quality of your sleep, then this may not be for you.…
We stayed here for 1 night and would recommend for a short trip! The staff were really friendly and we were given a free welcome cocktail which was a bonus. The rooms were well equipped however they were quite small and the bathroom was even smaller. However as we only stayed for 1 night it was okay.
Very nice hotel for family travel. Friendly and multi lingual people, well located (flat part of Lisbon so also convenient for less able people), very nice bar with a good Spotify list (which they share). Rooms are very small and their is no laundry service that I am aware off, to say something negative.
We have stayed in lots of hotels (with a COVID break), this hotel tried very hard to make our stay pleasant and for us to feel welcome. We were offered a complimentary drink in their company bar/lounge on arrival which we enjoyed with a nice charcuterie board and a torta. Breakfast with hot/cold options was generous and always offered something different from the previous day. Staff took COVID care. Our room was a good size, a bit funky, nice bed, good chairs, quiet although facing the street and the bathroom was modern. The nespresso machine had all the fixings (but buy yourself milk and put in the fridge). We had to cancel our 2020 reservation: hotel gave us vouchers. They were helpful and accommodating when it came time to use them.
We stayed as a couple for fours nights in Browns Central Hotel. Stayed in a superior room with a balcony so got the sun in the morning. The staff were very friendly and the hotel is perfectly located to explore beautiful Lisbon. Breakfast was good but don't worry if you miss it (like we did) as there are so many great spots on your doorstep to get your coffee and pastei de nata. Will definitely stay here again on next trip to Lisbon
