Location, location, location - the old adage most certainly applies to this charming small hotel. It's centrally located to most everything one wants to do in Lisbon, from sightseeing to shopping to dining to culture. In addition, the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The compromise are small, but should be mentioned: - Room size - ours were fairly small,...

I stayed here for my 30th birthday and the staff went out of their way to make it special for my partner and I. Nothing was too much trouble. The room was also nice and the location was great, would recommend.

2 1/2 hours waiting for the room with no facility to store luggage other than in the hallway out of sight of checkin desk. Supersmall bathroom with toilet squeezed in the corner. Low value for prize other then location.

My wife and I stayed at Lisboa Carmo Hotel for five nights. The hotel sits just off the corner of a very comfortable square called Largo do Carmo. It is one of the prettiest squares with table service for food and drinks available. Night time usually has a lot of activity with buskers. A fun spot! We were given a...

My wife and I just spent three nights here and thoroughly enjoyed it. From the easy and friendly check-in, to the check-out, the staff's attentiveness was top notch. The location is without comparison. We would highly recommend the rooms with a view over the city, it is well worth it. Breakfast was very nice and comprehensive. We would recommend this...

The hotel was brilliantly located and convenient for major sites. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. It was surprisingly quiet for such a central location. The hotel was stylish but a bit lacking in storage space. Free wi-fi available.

If you want a comfortable bed, a great shower and fabulous breakfast with professional and attentive staff walking distance to the many wonderful sights of Lisbon, then this is for you. Somehow it didn't matter that the shower leaked a bit and the bathroom had a bit of wear and tear. The room I was in (309) was a bit...

Catch a taxi from departures ( no wait) not arrivals €20 max and miss all the narrow cobbled streets that can be difficult with bags. Quick routes to metro and train station , five minutes max. Be prepared for hills and slippy streets due to worn out cobbles, take sturdy shoes. This hotel and probably Lisbon is not suitable if...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
