Fantastic location right in the middle of Baixa and very easy to get to from the airport by metro. Extremely convenient for many of the sights, and for shops and restaurants. The staff were very helpful and effortlessly able to alternate from speaking perfect English, French, Italian and Spanish. The rooms (especially the bathrooms ) seem to be stuck in...

The hotel is very close to 2 subway stations, several bus stops and also tramway. The region around the hotel has a lot of restaurants, shops and some places to visit. The commerce square is close, and it is a beautifull place to take some pics and look to the sea and the suspension bridge. However, you have to pay...

For us location is of prime importance on a city break, and this couldn't be better!! Yes, the décor is rather shabby, and not in a chic way, the breakfast is very simple and repetitive consisting of 2 crispy rolls and 2 sweet rolls with preserves, but this little hotel is slap bang in the centre of the Baixa /Chiado...

We spent 3 nights at this hotel, located in the heart of Lisbon at the end of September 2014 and the start of a three weeks vacation in Portugal. The Good is location & price....hotel is centrally located within walking distance of all attractions and value priced at 58 Euros a night. The Bad is Breakfast, Decor and WiFi reception....Breakfast...

This place could use a makeover, and yet, we still liked it very much. Let's just say that considering the price, we didn't care for decoration! The Albergaria has a great location, close to Rossio and BAixa-Chiado metro stations, a few steps from the main historic streets that lead to Praça do Comércio. We couldn't ask for a better deal....

Perfect location in the middle of Lisbon. In pedestrian area, close to metro, tram and busstops. Clean small room. Old fashined design, a little bit worn out. Very friendly staff. Simple but good breakfeast included.

Hotels in this area are usually quite expensive so at 58 euros for two per night this is a great bargain . Right in the middle of Baixa but a quiet pedestrianized street (at least when the cafes close about 11pm).As in other reviews everything is old-fashioned and a little tired, but clean everything works ,the staff are pleasant and...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!

“Pay attention to smoking rooms if you don't smoke. Make sure you will have the room you think by contacting the hotel prior. It is probable to have better wi-fi connexion in the rooms near the street and at the some floor of the reception or the next floor.”
