.Well situated in back street near Restaurados metro. Hotel clean comfortable and nice lounge to sit in. Breakfast good value. Room had little balcony which was great although it overlooked air conditioning unit that hummed a little at night. Lots of little Portuguese restaurants nearby and I felt safe walking alone at night. Excellent value for money

Agree with the above title ! the location is good, near Restauradores metro, plenty to see round there or get to other areas. Our room was for three, actually like a suite with the third bed in the entrance to the suite, but plenty of space and storage; clean with good bathroom, although it takes a minute or two for...

The hotel is well located- close to all transport links and for exploring Lisbon.I had a room on the quiet side so didnt experience any outside noise. Staff are very helpful. Breakfast is just about right and reasonably priced. The rooms are very clean - i was in a single room but found the bathroom a tight fit especially around the...

On the plus side the location is good, the reception team were all very friendly and helpful too. The room was ok with plenty of storage, we had a really big bathroom too. The shower over the bath was adequate. Breakfast was served in a lovely bright room, great coffee and delicious fresh bread, there was plenty to chose from....

A good mid priced Central Hotel for exploring Lisbon... Nothing fancy but squeaky clean and friendly.. Adequate facilities for the visitor but positioned very well in the midst of the restaurant area.. A little noisy at times especially when the street cleaning is done early morning.. But value for money with a pleasant breakfast room and food.

The location is wonderful, it's in the city center and you can reach everything by foot. The hotel is very humble, but clean and friendly. It's not far from Rossio and Restauradores (underground), if you're travelling by plane, take a City Bus from the airport (do not travel by taxi), it costs something like 2Euros, and the ticket entitles you...

Right off the bat, the location of this residence could not be better. The metro, train station, dining, shops, and a lot of attractions are all close by, and the attractions that aren't are a simple metro or bus trip away. The train station is less than a five minute walk for trips to Sintra or Cascais - both well...

I was in Lisbon in 1995 and when I saw this hotel still existed, figured it would be good to return. It was a reasonable 70 euro w/ breakfast and the location is excellent, convenient to the train station and a few subway stops. It's a combination of old and new and I liked the quirkiness of our room. I...

I will start with the negative aspects. As others say there are many restaurants nearby, but each day you have to run the gauntlet of being accosted by restaurant staff as you try to walk down the road - these are mainly very touristy restaurants. We ordered a double bed and got two beds pushed together which was not very...

Great location, very helpful team. Rooms on street can be noisy at night. Nearby are tram 25, 15, and Gloria cablecar to get you to all parts of city quickly. Timeout market was our new find of the trip - all the leading restaurants showing their favourites in one location

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
