Really loved this place. We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment on the 4th floor. Climbing the stairs was really worth it! We each had our own bathroom, the beds were comfortable and the Art Deco style was amazing as was the great bar area downstairs. Staff we're very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

We stayed in a nicely decorated and very spacious apartment on the 4th floor for 3 nights. Extremely clean, full kitchen, air conditioning and wi-fi. Beautiful wooden cabinet doors that cover the many windows and a small nook with a table and two chairs in one of the bedrooms. Fantastic location close to restaurants and cute shops and within walking...

We stayed for three nights with our travelling companions, another couple. Our apartment was in a building a few doors up from the reception area. Although no elevator yet in the building this wasn't an issue for us as our apartment was on the first floor. The apartment was very well situated, well appointed and clean. With two good bedrooms...

Had not realised how close this hotel is to the metro (Baixa Chiada less than 5 minutes walk), so got a cab from the airport (around €15). Funky style and decent clean rooms. The real advantage is the location, central and easy to walk to a lot of attractions. Staff go out of their way to help. Would definitely stay...

Stayed at the hotel/apartments for 4 nights whilst at the Optimus festival. We were in the penthouse which is on the top floor. Good size with brilliant decor. Each room is individually designed and unique. The staff are extremely polite and helpful and the food and drinks in the adjoining bar are very good and reasonably priced. The owner Tom...

Lisbon Short Stay Apartments is all about design. With brightly coloured rooms and corridors and individually painted doors, this hotel tries to appeal to young people who are in town for the weekend. At this, they largely succeed. The rooms are clean, the bathrooms, while somewhat cramped, are modern and the staff is very helpful. Situated in the heart of...

Modern boutique apartments in a great location. Roomy, well appointed and very good value. BUT a couple of things to be aware of: for our apartment, we had to climb 4 flights of steep rickety stairs as there were no lifts; and although it says sleeps four, there are only two double beds, which is OK for two couples not...

This place is really funky. The location is great, the price is right, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This hotel is extremely unique. For that reason it may not be everyone's style. I thought it was very fun, hip and different! Would absolutely recommend!

I stayed 2 nights with my partner and friend in a triple room. Was compact but perfect for our needs. Room was very funky as was the entire building. Room was cleaned every day and towels changed. A/C in the room was great. Very quiet room despite being close to main street. Staff in the apartments were so friendly and...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
