The staff is friendly, welcoming and give great tips for going around, I borrowed a bike for a ride along the beach. I liked a lot the common area in the reception, specially the music. Wi - Fi connection was poor and the breakfast could be improved and have more variety (at the second morning the juice was missing and...

Stayed at 12-bed dormitory that next to the dining area. It is a little hard if you wish to sleep early (e.g. 10pm/11pm) as people will chat at the dining area or have their late dinner. Their voices could be heard very clearly in the room. You could smell if someone is smoking at the dining area (outdoor). Unfortunately, my...

Very great hostel with great people and great ambiance. Very close to city center and bairo alto district where there is the nightlife. I recommend it 100%. This hostel is perfect for travelers who wants to pay a little for a bed and meeting a ton of new people. The communal kitchen is great and the dinning room is awesome....

It is located at quite a convenient location close to restauradores station and Rossio station, from which you can take a train to Sintra for a day trip away from Lisbon. The staffs are really friendly and helpful. Overall the place is considered clean and comfy as well.

Everything perfect except for the location at the top off a road jajaja Good breakfast... cleaning bedrooms and bathrooms. Good atmosphere at the reception with employees and guests. A nice bar where you can get good drinks.

Me and my classmates are really disappointed with this hostel. First of all I got a ripped sleeping blanket. Second of all the public bathroom was FILLED with pubichairs and hair in general. After we finished eating breakfast we had to clean our plates, cups etc. and some people did not even bother using soap to wash the dishes, so...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.

“Room security is good, bathroom is clean and spacious (ladies). Fruits, coffee and tea were provided foc daily. Breakfast offered was cereals, fruits, bread, milk, coffee, tea, cocoa etc. Hair dryer is available without charging a deposit. Be physically and mentally prepared (especially for those carrying large and heavy luggage) as you will need to walk up a steep slope getting to the hostel if you are coming from the direction of Palacio Froz / Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon.”
