Praça do Município is a refurbished set of serviced apartments right beside the city Hall. It's a good location on a busy street with narrow pavements. Plenty to do and see close by within a few minutes walk. The apartment we stayed in was a single bedroom with a sofa bed in the living room plus a small kitchen and...

As always, it's all about location location location. The apartments are located very close to the city center and most of the POI's are just a few minutes walking away. The apartment itself is clean and has all what you would need for a weekend or even longer. The staff (if you see them) are friendly and happy to help...

Very nice, ikea style appartment. Well situated close to the center. The only problem was the noise from the street as there is a tram and quite a lot of trafic. They also do not have reception, so no place to leave your luguage when you check out.

I stayed here on a city break with a friend. There was enough space for the both of us and probably could have had one other to stay on the other spare sofa bed and still had decent space in apartment. That is how good the size is and the storage. If you are 2 couples it might be a...

that apartament is very well located and equipped. Just one important thing about it, main door is bad isolated and the noise from the common areas of the building is disturbing at night. On the contrary, the isolation of windows is very good and the noise from the street almost is not noticed.

The apartment is ok. Very central, in the middle of the historic center. The rooms are nice and clean but in the bathrooms we found hair on the floor. The staff was very nice, and helpfull. Good choice.

Location was excellent. Apartment was very clean. The size was immense by even US standards. The gas cooktop burners would not light but they provided a lighter the very afternoon that we reported it. The street level front door lock was broken upon arrival but was fixed by the second day and then had another problem our last night but...

I loved the apartment and was very surprised that such an old building had all the mod cons I would've hoped for. The only problem was the lack of internet signal inside. I had to constantly go downstairs to the main entrance in order to access my emails. This should be rectified and then I would give the property a...

We reached the apartment at 9.00 pm. The entry codes worked smoothly and we were in ,in a jiffy. We were in apartment 1 D. It was a clean pleasantly decorated place The apartment is much smaller than what appears in pictures and the so called one bedroom is actually a studio with a double bed separated by a partition. The...

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
