This hotel is full of charm in every corner. From the entrance at street level you have to walk a number of stairs surrounded by flowers and trees before you reach the courtyard terrace and the entrance to the reception. Once their you get a friendly welcome. Check-in was fast and efficient, and without asking, my bag was brought to...

This was a lovely, historic, small hotel, well-located in Lisbon. Excellent restaurant. Highly recommended. Hotel was originally built as a convent and frequented in World War II by Jewish refugees fleeing the conflict in Europe. Very nicely updated.

I stayed for four nights. Initially had a lovely room at front (photos) but then moved to another by kind staff as wanted a double bed instead of twin. Lovely room with outdoor terrace at back of hotel. Very helpful staff offering knowledge of bus routes etc at front desk. Loved the relaxing breakfasts taken in the outdoor courtyard.

I stayed in York House with my girlfriend and was a very pleasent experience. I went to Lisbon for business for 1 night stay. We made all the meals at the Hotel (dinner, breakfast and lunch). The food is very good and the restaurant outsider área is perfect to dinner on summer nights. Great ambience, perfect atmosphere. The room is...

Updated rooms, quaint sorroundings, excellent restaurant. No elevator, but lots of steps to the main level - best for the young at heart! The front desk staff was very helpful with suggestions for local sites, maps and methods of transportation.

A quirky hotel which is a good stroll from town (or a quick taxi - these are quite cheap - 5 euros). The rooms that have been renovated are lovely. Unfortunately ours wasn't one of these. Room 305 - caked in dust and reeking of cabbage did not make for a pleasant stay. The room was all shut up with...

We stayed at the York house Hotel in late April because friends had suggested it for our trip to Lisbon. It was lovely, the staff extremely helpful in settings a private tour of Lisbon, and the food in the small dining room was delicious. Especially wonderful was the beautiful courtyard; had the weather been slightly warmer, it would have been...

York House was a clipping from the Saturday Telegraph and they were spot on. A lovely quiet, atmospheric hotel with lovely airy rooms plenty of hot water in the good sized bathroom. And a very comfortable bed. Lovely helpful staff. Up a number of stone steps to the hotel into a picturesque courtyard which was pleasant enough to spend hours...

This beautiful hotel is very nice, but a little bit worn down. This is compensated by the friendly staff and the high quality of service. Walking distance to major sights, located between city centre and Belem with plenty of nice restaurants in the surrounding area.

Rooms do not correspond to description. A small dark room was given as a Superior Double Suite. Two hours were lost arguing on reception to get a better room which was still far away from the original description.
