Great Hotel, fantastic location. If you are a simple low maintenance person who only wants a clean hygienic bed and bathroom then this is the hotel for you! Breakfast for me was included daily and it was lovely and I felt leaving full-filled for the day. The hotel supplied different food each morning so you wont be bored!

This is a great little hotel in a perfect location, right at the bottom of the Elevador Da Gloria (for getting up the hill to Bairro Alto) and within walking distance of the downtown areas. The rooms are neat and tidy, beds were comfy, the bar is really cosy and all of the staff were great. Fully appreciate that we...

Walk up the hill and you are in the Old Town, walk down to Restauradores square and you are downtown where all the good stuff is. Staff are friendly, breakfast is good and rooms are adequate if you plan to spend your days exploring. You could do a lot worse! Aerobus will drop you right outside on Avenida Libertadores -...

This was a lovely little hotel in a central location in Lisbon. We arrived for our first ever visit to Portugal and were a bit early for checking in. No problem. we were able to leave our luggage in the hotel while we went off to explore, have some lunch and then return at check in time. Very helpful friendly...

This hotel is the centre,5 mins walk from Rossio railway station and Rossio square. Even if you are afraid of the noise of Elevador da Gloria, you will not be disappointed. You will not hear anything. Cleaning every day,but not so early, that is great. The breakfast is great and huge enough. One thing: I missed the vegetables, and every day...

We booked first available weekend in this hotel, great price, fantastic location, our room over looking the funicular was small but suited our needs. Saw some people have remarked about the noise from the funicular but this was great to see from our room. Others have complained about the size of the room, not being able to swing a cat,...

We stayed for 4 nights and this hotel was in a really good location, close to all the central parts of the city. The rooms are small but you don't go away to sit in your room. The funicular that runs past the hotel doesn't run all night so didn't disturb us at all. Breakfast was good and would definitely...

Nice hotel, central enough, in a really nice area. Staff are friendly and the rooms are quite nice although a bit small. The buffet breakfast is quite limited and there is no hot food. We had an issue with being put in a double room instead of a twin room, and our shower leaking onto the floor and even though...

The hotel has a perfect location in the city center, amazing view from the room (3rd to 5th floor), very clean and spacious room. Although the hotel is in the city center it's quite and you can easily sleep with the windows open. Over the corner is one of those amazing small streets with the tram climbing up (Elevator da...

Staying in Chiado & Carmo

Neighbourhood Profile
Chiado & Carmo
The traditionally trendy "Chiado" (literally, "squeak", the nickname of a 16th century poet) offers plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars where you can stop for a cafe or cocktail, after exploring its streets, shops, art galleries, theaters, museums and viewpoints. It's also the home to the statue of the famous statue of portuguese poet Fernando Pessoa, having is usual espresso at "A Brasileira" as he used to. You can also enjoy breathtaking views of Lisbon from the Elevador de Santa Justa or the Carmo Convent, for example. A commercial neighborhood at its core, especially for its Garrett and Carmo streets, Chiado is to this day a mandatory visit in Lisbon.
