saw the "VALUE CONSCIOUS - Saving money doesn’t mean saving in comfort" on their website and facebook ? good. now forget it, because there is nothing that could be farther from what we experienced In a nutshell: it's still a mystery to me how we didn't take off to another hotel after the first 2 days. more than a month... The hotel was selected for its central location and close to a Metro station, the Metro being the cheapest most practicable transport from the airport. All receptionist were very friendly and helpful and supplied excellent advice on restaurants, sights and how to get there. Rooms were smallish but well decorated with good practical design for hanging clothes and storage. Free... More

The hotel is located in the heart of the old city, friendly staff, clear and nice rooms, the noise from the supermarket is not a point of attention as it starts from 8.00 am when it is right time to get up))) we have liked our stay and would definitely recommend the hotel to friends.

Has mentioned in previous reviews the rooms are a bit on the small size , but when you are visiting such an interesting city like Lisbon how long are you going to be in there ? I loved the quirkiness of this hotel , found the staff to be very helpful and friendly ( thank you for sorting my airport... More

Location is outstanding, choices of restaurants/cafe/bakery on same street & around, 3-5 mins walk to Rossio railway station (day-trip to Sintra €15), Aerobus to airport (€3.50). Tourist info bureau opposite hotel and a kiosk selling day travel tickets (€6.00) etc..both giving good advice. Room is small, minimalist. Floor space is enough for 1 medium size suitcase & 2 hand luggages.... More

right next to Restaurados Metro Station ( but there are 4 exits). It took us a long time to find the hotel whose signage is not too obvious as it is not in the main road. Once we know the proper exit from the Metro station ( literally 2 min walk from hotel) , it is easy to get around.... More

The hotel is positioned in the middle of the town. Very close to almost any transportation means (train, subways, elevator and buses) and restaurants. The room was clean, very small with a small cabinet. The acoustic isolation is poor. Our room had windows to street, that turned out to be a mistake: Trunks and other noises will wake up early... The location is great - near the Restoradores square, so a metro station is only two minute walk from the hotel. Several bus and train station are located there as well. You can reach most of the historical areas by foot - including Bairro Alto and Alfama. Behind the hotel is a nice street with a lot of food restaurants.... More

Very clean and pleasant hotel well run with friendly staff. Rooms are on the small side which isn't too much of an issue for us as we are roaming the city as much as we can with our limited time. The breakfast was to say very disappointing, not just the lack of breakfast items (not even orange juice) but having... More

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
