First time in Lisbon. Location was perfect for exploring the city— we walked everywhere or took the nearby trolly when we felt like it. As others have mentioned the rooms are compact but stylish and impeccably clean. Friendly front desk and the two ladies who served breakfast made us feel at home. Recommend!

The location of the hotel was great. The room we had was nice and clean but a bit small. Breakfast was decent and had good coffee. The old style elevator was tricky to operate but better than no elevator. Only issue I had with the hotel was that they made mistake and double charged the rooms on my credit card. They did refund half of the amount in euro but I lost money in foreign currency transactions. I was told that they would not charge the city tax as they made mistake but when I was checking in they said there is no mention about not charging the city tax. I had to explain and argue with the reception one more time which was quite frustrating.

We chose that hotel for its decoration and location in the city. We were very excited to go to Lisboa. But we faced a terrible event (flight cancelled by the company). We were unable to reach Lisboa and we asked a sales gesture to the hotel to waive at least some few euro from the penalty. After 3 requests by e-mail and trying just to save maybe a % on the total penalty, the hotel did not want to understand. It was a NO ... We precise that we are hoteliers and we know perfectly the sales conditions. We are used to waive maybe 5% or 10% on the total bill which does correspond to the commission granted to online travel agencies and this help to the guest loyalty and satisfaction. We booked direct really because we are hoteliers and we want the hotel to save that commission. Se we thought to be treated in that way. But it does not happen. This is a shame ! We will never book again that hotel.

My husband and I ended our trip around Portugal with a night at Teatro prior to flying internationally. Teatro is the definition of boutique complete with classic lifts, a modern theme and ambiance. Breakfast was one of the best offered on our trip. Our room was very clean and comfortable. While having a room on the street on the first level we were worried about noise but where the hotel is situated it didn't seem there was heavy bar traffic (especially for a Friday night). The hotel is conveniently located near a lot of the major squares in the city as well. Would recommend this hotel to those looking for a little splurge.

You couldn't get a better location in the Chiado area than this hotel even though it is on a slight hill. We arrived very early in the morning and left our bags to go exploring. The hotel is near several listed sites and close to the Metro. Our twin room was compact with theatrical themes on the walls, a safe, and very high closet bars for hanging clothes. Space was at a premium so we left our clothes in our suitcases. It was very clean, bright, and the shower was was strong. We were on the 1st floor, by the elevator, overlooking 2 restaurants and the street and it was surprisingly quiet . The free WiFi was not strong in our room but there is a small computer/printer room on each floor. There were plenty of authentic small restaurants within walking distance. The hotel breakfast was plentiful, you can request scrambled or poached eggs to accompany the sweets, meats, and fruit and drinks. The Teatro Boutique BnB was a good choice and affordable for a mid range hotel in Lisbon. Book through the hotel for an extra discount.

The hotel is in a great location. The quaintness of the area is beautiful. A walk brings you to the waterfront and attractions and shopping all within walking distance. The stop for a hop on hop off bus/tram are also conveniently located. Surrounded by restaurants and cafes, one doesnt have to look far for food. Breakfast is served in their adjoining restaurant and is a real treat. The staff is super friendly and helpful and the front desk takes great pains to chalk our a tour for you and is very patient with your queries.

This hotel is absolutely beautiful. It’s tucked away in the perfect location of Chiado with walking distance to all major sites in Lisbon. It is near multiple delicious restaurants. The staff is very helpful with any tips or recommendations you need. The room is absolutely gorgeous and a great size. You get a great location and room without having to be in a modern, high rise hotel and still enjoying the charm of Lisbon. Definitely recommend!

Not only the hotel makes you feel in a theatrical world but its location is hard to beat. The moment you walk out of the hotel you find yourself in Lisbon life...restaurants, bars, cafés, shops, churches, bookstores...everything at a walking distance. Very clean and with a very friendly staff this hotel offers an abundent breakfast fit for a king/queen. I will go back next time I visit Lisbon.

Rooms lovely and great location. Rooms nicely designed, spacious and very clean. Welcome is service oriented. They really want to make sure you are very pleased here. Breakfast was very nice. One thing to point out, because of the exceptional location, there is outside street noise the hotel can not control. If you go to bed early ask for a room in the quiet side of the hotel.
