The staff is great and helpful. The showers are pretty impressive: better than in a hotel. They have dinners every night for 10 euros including drinks. The beds are comfortable and some rooms has a balcony. Waffles and crepes in the breakfast great place.

Nice hostel in the middle of old Lisbon. It has a special 'crew'/staff that is always able to help. The breakfast is nice and the rooms very clean and cool. I hope to go back to Lisbon and back to this hostel... for sure!

A solo female traveller, I stayed 4 nights in a 3 bed dorm. I did not realise I was booking a mixed room, which proved to be a bit uncomfortable for me as I shared only with men the whole stay. That aside, the hostel itself was basic but clean and value for money with just about everything you need.... More

Goodnight Hostel is a perfect accomodation for a stay in the heart of Lisbon! Great location, friendly staff, original deco and clean rooms. Staff make you feel at home and are very helpful in providing practical info and preparing yummy breakfast and sangria :-)

I stayed at the goodnight hostel for 4 nights with two friends. It's located in the center of the city. The rooms and the toilets were always clean. It has an amazing decoration and a very cozy environment!! The staff was really really kind, warm and friendly! Marta helped us plan our trip, Joanna made the most delicious breakfast, David,... This hostel is inconsistently managed and is not friendly to Americans or seniors. The staff are rude and bossy and clearly are instructed to discourage older guests from having a good experience and from coming back. The place has the feel of a girls boarding school with overbearing staff obsessed with rules and recriminations. If you are a friendly American... More

This place is so good in every way. It is located 4 mins walk from Baixa Metro, so easy to find. I was checked in by Vittor and he was ever so friendly and helpful, even carried my backpack up to my 6th floor room. Reception is on 2nd floor so there are a few stairs but good training for... More

Beautiful decoration, perfect location, really lovely staff and nice guests - I highly recommend staying here! We stayed in a 3 bed dorm and the only negative aspect was that it was kinda noisy during the night. But take some ear plugs with you and you're good to go :)

Staying in Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores

Neighbourhood Profile
Baixa, Rossio & Restauradores
A pending candidate to become a World Heritage Site, Lisbon's downtown (the "Baixa Pombalina", or simply "Baixa") is a perfect example of anti-earthquake construction, having been rebuilt following the 1755 earthquake by the famous Marquês de Pombal (hence its name). Its offer is vast: restaurants and cafes in Rossio and Restauradores, outlets and shops in the Áurea, Augusta, Prata and other famous streets, the imponent Praça do Comércio and its Arch, the luxury shops along the Avenida da Liberdade, this is the beating heart of the city center. The Baixa also grants easy access to trains leading to Sintra, the trams that go around the Castle hill, old neighborhoods or even take you to Belém, and Lisbon's traditional restaurants and cafes. Considering a visit to the Fashion and Design Museum (free entrance) and don't forget to try the famous liquor, "ginjinha"!
