Small but nice hostel for exploring Lisbon in the center -very good place and very cosy -the park and "miradouro" is near it Don't doubt choosing it if you want to stay in hostel (not hotel) - everything will be ok, I am sure

We had probably the most beautiful room of the hostal, ancient doors frame and old azulejos on the wall, clean and quiet. Nice staff. The position of the hostel is strategic 50 mt from the Graca miradouro. Good choice.

The staff were very pleasant and easy to deal with. Value for money was there for a private room in a hostel. The room was tidy and well kept. Everything worked and the wifi was reasonable. We really enjoyed our stay!

We really liked our stay in Johnie's Place. Location is very good, just few steps from one of the most beautiful viewpoints in Lisbon. We took room with all facilities and it was very nice: quite big, clean, with very nice furniture, soft linen. It was my first experience with hostels, but in my opinion, it was much better than...

Spent a long weekend in Lisbon at Johnie's Place, I know there are loads of hostels in Lisbon, but I doubt there's a better one than this place. In a great location, great facilities, great, helpful staff and a really good atmosphere. Close to loads of cool bars and restaurants and not far at all to walk to main square...

Loved my staying. Location is amazing right on one of the most popular view points. Right on the city center. We went walking and we saw all of the old town. Also we went full circle on the yellow tram that stops 100 meters from the hostel. Loved the staff. Place was clean. Highly recomend!!!

Johnie's Place is a very friendly small hostel in one of the nicest parts of Lisbon. The atmosphere there is very cozy and because it's rather small, it feels personal but you still get to meet people from all over the world. The hostel is located right opposite an amazing view point where you can have a drink while watching...

I stayed at Johnie's Place for three nights and loved it. I came back after a long day and it felt like a little home - very comfortable, everyone was relaxed and so was the atmosphere! It's a small hostel compared to others you might know, but big enough to meet really nice people! Right in front of the hostel...

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
