If you are looking for a clean, cheap place that is close to transport then I would recommend Tagus Home. At the price for a hostel bed, you get a room on your own (shared bathroom), and while it is not located in downtown Lisbon, it is only a 20 minute walk (a nice one too - along Avenue de...

We arrived there on a Saturday night, they hadn't any signs outside so it was a bit difficult to find. When we arrived, there was paper on the door with a phone number, we waited for 5 minutes for the lady to arrive. Then she came with us upstairs and gave us the keys, the rooms were nothing as the...

I was principle satisfied with my stay at the hotel Tagus. The owner is pretty crazy and chaotic, but also very personable. The cleaning woman from Brazil speaks only (Brazilian) Portuguese. One small problem: The owner is not always in the house, so it can be "funny" at check-in because of communication problems. The rooms are basic but comfortable.

This hostel advertises to have a 24h front desk, but most of the times nobody is around. When we arrived, the doors were locked and nobody opened when we rang the bell several times! Eventually we found a note telling us to call a number. After 10mins someone came over. Other hostels usually provide a free tourist map and give...

Stayed April 2013 for 6 nights. Chose simply because of the price. Excellent location, within walking distance of central attractions and close to metro stops. We arrived late on a Saturday but there was still someone there to greet us. There was a confusion as the hostel is in two locations (about 5 minutes apart) but we were taken to...

Tagus Home was the last hostel my boyfriend and I stayed at during our trip to Lisbon. We arrived at the hostel, and rang the bell several times, receiving no answer. After a while, we tried ringing the contact number - a woman picked up, speaking Portuguese, but no English, and we were none the wiser as to what to...

We went to Lisbon in October 2011 and booked three nights at Tagus Home. It is the most noisy place that I have been in my life. The floor is so old that it is not possible to walk around without being heard. None is at the reception so when someone phones, knocks to the door...they have to wait for...

We chose this accommodation because it was the cheapest option at the time - the rooms are basic but fine (a bit noisy if they're next to the street). Clean enough too. The staff were really flexible with arrival times which was helpful, although there isn't anyone actually working onsite, which means you can't get tourist info etc. Good location...

I stayed at this hostel over Easter period for 3 nights (end of April). As I travelled quite a lot, budget was important and that is why I chose this hostel as it was the cheapest option at the time, also offering quite a good location. Tagus Home is situated very close to bus 22 terminus, which gives you direct...
