Hotel Regina is what I would describe as a very basic 4 star. But honestly it is more a 3 star. It had good and bad points so here they are... Good Points * Friendly front desk staff * Close to the main Cathedral * Clean throughout * Nice foyer area * Onsite free parking

Fatima hotel Regina Clean. If you are not from Europe, a/c thermostat and tv is a little tricky to operate. In the end, I found out the thermostat can be reset remotely by desk personnel. And the tv, when red light is on, all you have to do is press any number for the channel.

We were expecting a very good hotel after reading the website info. and what we got surpassed our expectation . The location, staff, rooms, communal areas etc. were all excellent. I read some bad reviews about the food but our experience was that the food was very good.

Dear Caryl, having just been to Fatima I would recommend bringing your own food if you have specific dietary requirements. There is not a lot of choice in Fatima, and even the supermarket is limited.

Thank you for your question. I have to say that Fatima is almost entirely geared to the "pilgrimage experience": there is little else to do in the immediate vicinity of the domain. Your hotel is right next to the new Basilica of the Holy Trinity and only yards away from the main area - very, very central. The bus station is only ten minutes walk away: so there are other places to visit (Toma or Nazarre, for example) if you wanted to explore further into the countryside or coastal area. Or: your husband could decide to travel by bus (about an hour and a half) up to Lisbon which is a beautiful city.
