Stayed in this hotel as part of a tour package booking from Singapore. It has a strategic location just a minutes walk to the square where nightly procession of Catholic worshipers, local and foreigners visit to pay penance or for prayers. The corridor becomes newer n more modern once u go up to the 1st floor. Bedroom n bath are very well organised. Shower stall with 2 glass panels whilst all other hotels on my Spain trip had single glass panel, floor gets wet inevitably. Had an excellent shower. Shower pressure Excellent. Shower stall adequate size for me. Breakfast n dinner were buffet style. Simple and tasty.
this hotel has the best location for a pilgrimage to the holy site. they serve a very good breakfast and everything was clean and neat. the staff was friendly and helpful too. the room was small and the bed was hard as a rock. it was OK for a one night
Firstly, please read all the other reviews. Most are very positive and I don't want someone to rule this place out (with it's great location for the Sanctuary) based on my review. However, this accounts for my experience. Stayed one night as part of a Trafalgar tour and this was by far, the lowest level of accommodations on the trip. I do realize that Trafalgar can't always get hotels to take a large group of people, so options are limited, but this hotel was so unpleasant, I almost wish Trafalgar had split up the group across a few hotels and avoided this one. The room was tiny (however this was no issue for me as a single traveler). However, being non-religious, there was not other sites I could visit from this location (again, I realize the Sanctuary is the main event, so this will likely not impact others who go with that purpose). The bar....shockingly inadequate. As part of a group, we tended to gather in the bar of whatever hotel prior to our group dinner. Lots of money to be made when a group of 20 wants drinks after a day of bus travel. We trickled in slowly. I was the first to arrive. Then 3 more, 2 more etc. I never was served a drink, even after going to the front desk 3 times to inquire about the bartender. When the bartender arrived he poured my drink and then left. Leaving the other 5, 6, 7 people to wonder how to order. They too went to reception to find him. 30 minutes passed before all 6 people were served. Such a missed opportunity We ate our food in the hotel. I realize it was a group event (buffet style) but the food was virtually inedible. Most of our group ended up sitting back in that very same bar area (now closed after our dinner event) eating crackers/cheese and whatever we still had in our luggage. I only recommend this hotel if you plan to eat out and plan to only use it as a close proximity to the religious ceremonies. I would have preferred to have caught a taxi to Lisbon to get out of there. Sorry.…
We visited this hotel on Oct 7 2019 It was a lovely hotel with lovely staff The rooms and food were excellent and the customer service second to none I would highly recommend it It was very reasonable It’s very near the grotto of Fatima
Convinient location, friendly people, great breakfast(eggs, fruits, pastries, cheese, coffee ) , beautiful view from the balcony. We stayed for one night in suit for 4 people. It was very pleasant experience.
The best thing about the hotel of course is its location. The sanctuary is across the hotel, so after a late night prayer or candle light procession all you need is walk a little to get here. The staffs were so friendly, spoke fluent English so if you need some assistance there is no problem. The hotel also has a chapel in their basement. My group had a mass here because we couldnt manage to book a slot in sanctuary. The room is a little bit dated but it wasnt a huge problem for me. The room has a balcony, it was nice if you have the room facing the sanctuary, you can enjoy the sunrise/sunset with the basilica view. The breakfast was good, plenty of choices. The buffet dinner was pretty good.
This is a great location to stay in Fatima. Its right next to the Sanctuary gate closest to the Chapel of the Apparitions. The hotel is very nicely appointed very friendly and knowledgeable staff and has its own gated parking area. The gps directions may be a bit confusing because of all the one way streets adjacent to the Sanctuary but the staff will guide you in locating the parking entrance. Tip - get the hotel phone number - you may need to call reception to remotely open the gates. I definitely will recommend staying here. We will return.
This was an elegant older style hotel with excellent location. Room and bathroom were a good size and breakfast was great. Staff were friendly and helpful. Walking distance from train station. No hesitation in recommending.
Step out of the hotel and you are pretty much at the entrance to the sanctuary premises, making this a great place to lodge for pilgrims who visit Fatima. Amenities and the breakfast spread might be a little basic, but this definitely is a cozy place with spacious, clean and comfortable rooms to spend a few nights. Plenty of souvenir and religious relics shops and a few museums around, with a hop-on train stop located just outside the hotel too. Helpful and courteous staff. Overall, a good stay and a spot-on location for pilgrims.
It's literally a few steps away from the grounds. You can get to the chapels as early or as late as you want. The hotel itself is simple, the rooms and amenities sufficient. Breakfast is okay. Would stay here when I visit Fatima again in the future.
