We stayed there for a few nights. Hotel was surprisingly old, dirty and stinky. Room was a quite OK, but the lack of maintenance were everywhere. Bathroom was a second big disappointment. Dirt, mold and rust everywhere. Do not expect that you will be using pool area. It looks like no body to took care about it since the building...

The location of this hotel is absolutely fabulous. The beach is great and if you arrive at the right time you can enjoy a nice walk watching a gorgeous sunset. The hotel i am guessing was once a nice place to stay. Pity no-one has bothered refurbishing and maintaining the place. It is extremely run down. Rooms decent size but...

Just returned from a 5 day visit to the Fort ( stayed an extra night due to the French Air Traffic Control Strike) which I saw as a free days holiday! The hotel is in a great location on the western coast of Portugal, the wind makes it ideal for surfing and kite boarding. The surf school under the hotel...

You got it! The location was fabulous in terms of view. Perched up on the rocks overlooking gorgeous beach. Inside and ouside hotel was "coastal shabby". Room was clean, folk were friendly and service was good but a good upgrade inside and out is well overdue. Lots of "yesteryear" memorabilia around if you like/don't like that. Regarding location and view...

Furthermore the breakfast was appalling not even a egg available and the coffee machine...

The hotel has very good location - right on the beach. We had ocean view room, so the view was wonderful. Room was clean, but everywhere in the hotel there was lack of maintenance. It could be really nice accommodation a few years ago. But now it is really decay and obsolete place.

We booked 9 nights at the Muchaxo, through Hotwire's 'secret rooms', so we grabbed a bargain. We've always resolved to make the best of these gambles and enjoyed ourselves, despite the Muchaxo's best efforts. Guincho beach and the surrounding area is beautiful, although the wind levels could possibly only be matched by a break in the Outer Hebrides. Not the Muchaxo's fault, we know...

Not very well received on arrival, They didn´t care about us awatting to get check in and not even apologize. Otherwise the room was very clean and big. For the future they should start breakfast a bit early.

While I did not stay here we did spend a delightful afternoon on the property. The views are spectacular of Guincho Beach. They have a great salt water swimming pool and the view from the restaurant is spectacular to watch the waves breaking on the beach and the kite surfers out. Free WiFi and a very interesting owner in Tony...

A classic beach hotel. Pounding surf, roaring waves, fading pix of movie stars on the walls, enormous bar, huge pool, beautiful beach, super-king size beds with mood lighting, excellent dinner, a real throwback-in-time feeling when you are one of the few guests in January. A few kilometers east of Cascais along the lovely beach, great spot from which to explore...
