Malibu Foz Hotel is a lovely hotel that provides a great balance between sea and mountain. It’s less than 10 minutes walking to the beach area turning it into a the perfect option if you are looking for a quiet and replaxing place to stay that is still walking distance to the town center and the beach. We stayed there during our trip to the region and we had a great time. Our room had a view over the pool and the bar and lounge area are perfect to relax when you are not enjoying the swimming pool. The breakfast has a lot of options and is served until 10:30. We had dinner at Mensa, the hotel restaurant and we loved it so much that we came back on our second night. Highly recommended
Excellent hotel in all departments, if only it had been right on the front of FdG? May be not! What a superb find The Malibu Foz was for our stay in Figueira da Foz. Excellent on all fronts, excellent spacious bedroom, huge and extremely comfortable bed (so big had to call my wife on a mobile for a conversation), lovely bathroom/shower stocked with a brilliant range of bath/shower toiletries, you have no need to take a hairdryer ladies, there is a superb one in your room. Rooms were absolutely spotlessly clean, excellently furnished, superb wardrobe space with more than enough hangers, complete with night safe, minibar, and a Nespresso coffee machine complete with 4 pods etc! Restocked daily. Adequate on site parking was available to the front and rear of the hotel, at no extra charge, it felt very safe and secure! Every single member of staff we had contact with were extremely friendly and helpful in the extreme. We did not do breakfast but have a feeling we really missed out there. I say this as on our first evening we decided to dine at the onsite restaurant “Mensa”, it bothered us a little as there were only another couple dining, had we made a mistake? Not in the least, a really nice ambience, friendly helpful waiting on staff, excellent quality food, very reasonably priced good range of wines, again very reasonably priced, why was it so empty? Come on guys give it a try we doubt you would be disappointed! Would we go back if we visit the area again? You bet we would, as we doubt there is a better hotel in the area for class, style and value for money as the Malibu Foz. Fantastic value and great in all departments and we don’t say that lightly. A big thank you to all staff at the Malibu for making our visit so perfect.…
The Malibu Foz Hotel & Restaurant is, first and foremost, a very good hotel and very suitable for a family getaway. Starting with the staff: very kind, helpful and always with a smile. They were frequently greeting us and making us feel at home. The rooms are modern, well decorated and very comfortable. The beds are very big and sufficient for a couple and a child (which was our case). All rooms (?) have a view to the pool and a small balcony, which is great for relaxing and enjoying some sun. Wi-fi connection in the room wasn't always perfect and a bit weak in some corners. The bathrooms are slightly outdated compared to the rest of the room. The rooms come with the normal amenities. We had breakfast at the hotel and were very satisfied with the quality and quantity. A lot of cereal, fruit, and hot plates (e.g. eggs, sausages, etc.) options. The hotel decoration/ services is also very good, with a small room for kids to play, a lot of couches for people to sit and relax and even a movie room (although we didn't use it). The hotel's pool is big and sufficient for a lot of people to enjoy. There are also a lot of chairs and a pool-side bar if you need a drink. The only negative point is the lack of umbrellas to help block out the sun, especially for kids. The hotel's Mensa restaurant was good. We were there for lunch and had pizza and a risotto. Both options were good. Overall, a very good experience at a very good hotel. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely return.…
We booked on the day, due to issues with another property. There was only one room available of a type suitable for us and our small dog. It was a room adapted for the disabled, but this did not present us any difficulties. The super-king size bed is comfortable. I understand these beds are installed in every room. The room itself was spacious and well-furnished. The patio looked onto the pool area (as do all the patios). All areas were clean and well-maintained. Our dog was welcomed and fussed over by the staff. We were permitted to take him poolside with us, under control and always on a lead. There was a good area opposite the hotel, equipped with dog bins (useful for short comfort walks with the dog last thing at night and first thing in the morning). The dog was very comfortable and relaxed in the hotel. Colour scheme in both the rooms and public areas is very relaxing. The pool area is surrounded by a stone slab pathway and also has a large grass area. There are some secluded spots, protected by plants and trees. We stayed on a room-only basis, so cannot comment on meals. The hotel is located about 400 metres from the seafront and excellent beach. The street opposite leads directly to a busy part of the seafront, but the area of the hotel is very quiet. The hotel has three storeys. It recently changed ownership. At present, the top storey is not in use as it is awaiting refurbishment. The first and second storeys have been renovated to a very good standard and the hotel is to close over winter for the third storey to be refurbished. Overall, we had a very pleasant stay. The staff in Reception and Housekeeping are extremely helpful and pleasant, dealing well with the unavoidable teething problems of re-opening a hotel under refurbishment. I consider this a very good hotel, which is likely to be excellent when fully refurbished, in time for the 2020 season.…
We had a great stay. Everything was perfect: the hotel is fully renovated, with design elements, our suit was big and clean, beds comfortable, the view to the pool was beautiful. Kids play room, cinema, welcome drinks - everything was well thought. We would definitely come back!
"Top floor will be good as lower patios tend to get splashes from inconsiderate people hanging wet clothes above them."Read full review
